I was thinking of going out to LA to visit my brother, (Suki SV650) and nephew, (XB9S 1050cc), so I was wondering if I could rent a Buell out there. Lot easier than air mailing my XB9 from New York, I think. Any ideas anyone? | ||

head to a harley shop that sells Buells. I think most Harley shops will rent bikes | ||

you will for sure need to call in advance, and see if they will have any available. last time i tried, they did were all rented out. looks though like the only buell you will be able to rent will be a blast. may just want to get yourself a sportster for a few days. at least you would have a ride then. | ||

all the HD dealers I've seen will not rent out XBs, only Blasts. | ||

not looking too good so far, called all the HD and rental dealers. I am looking into sending my XB9S out. I think it might fit in a Forward Air small container, if I put the bike in on the diagonal or remove the front wheel. Anyone tried it? | ||

You might contact Glendale HD/Buell. There's an Eaglerider rental desk there. Dunno if they do Buells. If not, say you're disappointed. I'd like to see a groundswelling of interest in their renting Buells. http://www.glendaleharley.com I've found it's a pretty rare thing for Buells to be rented out (dang) | ||

Not that this does you any good, but Tilley HD/Buell in Statesville, NC used to rent an XB9S, at least when Bubba was there. | ||

first Buell i saw in person was a rental from CRUISE AMERICA. few years back, it was an X1 i think. guy was pretty twisted, had big duffle lashed across pillion, duct tape and some ratty open cell foam wrapped around the grips, was real wild eyed, real dirty, and fueling up with a guy on a BMW GS of some sort. think they were in the middle of a marathon weekend. | ||
