A thought to help us back on track....

Its best to avoid confrontation, even if you have the means to resolve the altercation. The paperwork is just not worth it. There is a God, and He revenges innocent blood.

He told me so Himself

I told someone that they didn't want to fight me because they would run. He said he wouldn't run. So I kicked him and took off running...He ran after me...I yelled back "I told you that you would run!"

"One of our BRAG members was on his way home from last weekends Hell's Angels poker run ..."

Hell's Angels... Felonious drug dealing gang banging organized crime syndicate or friendly motorcycle club?

I don't know. Anyone here really truly know?

The couple of H.A.'s I know are upstanding small business owners. Really.

On the subject of guns, it's very controversial. Here in Az, the reasonable person test says, "Shoot the bastard, he just tried to run you over with his truck." I have family in Nevada and it's about the same there...

I'd be a little reluctant to stand that same reasonable person test in latte sippin' California...

Either way, I'll never present my weapon unless I'm ready to give em one in the head. To do otherwise is reckless and only escalates the situation.

BTW, a study was done and on the merits of glass penetration, ease of carry, and ability to shoot while riding; the .357 was dubbed the best motorcycle weapon. Conducted by some guy in Oregon. I think I read it here, it was a crack up to read...

Also, I've asked very frankly a city cop, a sheriff, and a federal marshal; and they've all said if someone comes after you with their car, you are justified to defend yourself.

I'm sorry, am I missing something?
You are on a bike. A Fast One. Get as far away from a pick-up full of "rednecks" as fast as you can. I used to of a lot of cars, but you can dust them, so what's the problem? You may have to play a little slow down speed up, but you should be able to outrun any incident. When they are 2 miles behind you, you feel better.

In the example given, he was forced off the road and they were assaulting him. If it were me, they'd have holes in em'. I always carry...

im sorry, but there is something seriously f'ed up in our legal system when, in regard to your own life (shooting to disable rather than kill) you spare someone elses life, the shooter ends up the bad guy.
lethal force should not be required as self defense, especially if its only to avoid repercussion from the original offender

I know its not the way it works, just messed up.

Blake: I would imagine like any large motorcycle based organization like the HA's, Vagos, Pagans, etc. there is a mix of outright criminals and down right good people. I do know that here and back in South Carolina where I am from that the Hells Angels do more for the underprivelaged kids and the homeless/needy that many "white collar" organizations. The worked in conjunction with the Marine Corps "Toys For Tots" drive every year to pack large container trailers full of toys for those kids that would otherwise get nothing.

Ah, so that is how they are trying to improve their public image and get the FBI off their back.

Do a search on Biker Gangs or MC Clubs and you will find a lot of interesting material concerning investigations, trials and convictions.

Still, if the function is worthwhile and truly benefits those intended recipients, I support anyone in the endeavor.

Just don't ever ask me for a penny to support the United Way as I have way too much first hand knowledge of the waste and cruelty of that organization.

Twowheel - Practically speaking, you should never shoot to disable. If you've got enough time and distance to be able to try to "wing" the offender you should flee instead. Legally speaking, you never, ever shoot to kill. Why should you want to kill someone and deprive their loved ones of their valued presence? You shoot only to stop an attack. And you do that by shooting at the center of mass, thereby maximizing the probability of stopping the attack and minimizing the possibility of a stray shot that could hit an innocent bystander. If the bad guy dies, he dies.

You can find the same stuff in regards to white collar crime as well (Enron, Quest, Fannie May, many government officials). There are bad apples in every bunch.

Ok, maybe it is just me. I do't know any member of HA, all I have read is Sonny Bargers book and of course Hunter Thompsons book. If they support a good cause then that is great but I can't imagine and 'good' people being members. Like I can't imagine any 'good' people being active in the KKK or Aryian Nation. Hope I didn't step on any toes there. This sounds like the 'Halo Effect'. Just because someone or a organization does one thing good does not mean that they are good. Sometimes it is just good business. As always YMMV.

Pcmodeler...Oh, that is so very true and it appears to almost always stem from Greed.
