Snakes taste like snake. Dunno what kinda bad chicken everybody else here been eating.

They are easy to clean. Kinda like trout but Longer

Diamondbacks are meatier with the thicker body - I think trying to eat a common garter snake would be like trying to eat a finch instead of a chicken. Could be done.

Lotsa bones.

All the reptile I have tried has tasted similar to chicken, but not identical, kinda dry. Good stuff.

Funny story,

good friend lived rural; had a copperhead nest in the culvert under the road up to the house.

Tossed a phosphorous grenade down in the culvert...instant white fire! Burned brush for about 100 yards both directions down the culvert!!! Snake problem over.

Never saw a snake I didn't step on or run over on a variety of two wheeled transport first.

Got real good at jumping straight up in the air and/or picking the things out of my spokes and chain.

Wonder if that is where my high blood pressure started?

Garter snake - Smelly little guys, and they will bite, but they've got tiny little teeth and can't do you any harm...unless you're afraid of snakes and have a weak heart.

Absolutely not in any way anything like a King snake...except that both are harmless to humans.

If you find one of these snakes in your house, stick out a finger, when he clamps down, lift and carry outside. When he lets go and slithers away, you and your house will again be snake free...probably.

Must be an epidemic, found the very same snake in my bedroom this morning. Actually my cat found it and my dog cornered it. Anybody have any ideas about eliminating him and his little bros that may have taken residence under my house in the crawl space?

Ahhh, just don't worry about them. Crawl under there, and move them. Or call the local animal control, and they will do it. Not worth killing them all, unless you have a ton of them through your walls and the whole house. I miss snakes. Don't see any around here any longer. I grew up catching garters, gophers, racers and rings. Had like 4 different species in one tank! Bet they hated it, but we were kids and didn't know better. I can stomach most things, but spiders. Hate spiders with big abdomens. We have black widows here, and they give me the eeby geebies.

Newfie, how do you ride with that there big arse?

My friend says there are garter snakes in the basement here (laundry room). There used to be a lady renting the lower flat who was completely terrified of them... they would curl up in the bottom of the laundry baskets.

She passed away two years ago and he has not seen a garter snake since... I like snakes, just not too crazy about them sneaking up on me in cold damp dark places...

How about this snake. Apparently, it caused the vehicles owner to be late for work recently.

Also adds a whole new meaning to the term Serpentine Belt.

Dang. Kiddo, the kingsnake has escaped from her tank. Assuming its still in the house how can I lure it back before the cats or dogs or guinea pigs get it? I'm wondering if it will try to kill geinea pigs even if they're too big for it.

Sportyeric,
Put a freshly killed mouse in a very large Hav-A-Hart trap and you might get lucky.
I lost a 12 foot Burmese python in a small apartment for a couple of weeks. How can something that big vanish?!?
I was sure that somebody stole her until somebody accidentally stepped on her head in the middle of the night. Next morning I found her curled up in the cabinet underneath the kitchen sink, none the worse for wear.
Wonderful pet, never hissed or bit even when her head was being squished.

Just when I was about to create a mouse-brain pot-pourri to lure Kiddo out of hiding and she has been found! My 15 year-old son had a couple of friend over on the weekend and, in fact, it was about 50% possible that the snake escaped from the tank with the loose fitting lid and 50% possible that one of these visiting lads wass holding the snake and fell asleep. In any case, when one of these lads left, he rolled up his blanket and stuffed it into a duffle-bag with his dirty laundry. His Mom just got around to emptying said duffle to do the laundry.
Man, I'm getting SOOOOO much entertainment out of this creature.
