Silly move by me! Trying to replace old header L mount with new Y mount.Bike on rear stand and jack under flat spot of motor(ofcourse not pumped up to support engine)I took out top bolt on old L header bracket and engine dropped putting shock mount out of line.I now can not get shock mount back in line
to place top bolt through new Y bracket and shock mount. Any ideas for a fix would be appreciated.By the way Im not a very good mechanic as you can see. Thanks in advance Shawn

When you say the bike is on a rear stand do you mean a swingarm stand? If so that is your problem. You need to get all the weight off the swingarm/shock. Then you can move the swingarm mount freely. Place some kind of stands, like car jackstands, under the passenger pegs. that will free up the swingarm.

Brace it up on the pegs somehow.

Everything will fall back in place - kinda?

Shawn take a bottle jack and put it underneath the rear shock mount where it attaches to the swingarm.lift it until you line back up again.

The gaskets are cheap but I have had my header off a number of times and reused the gaskets.

If you get it back on and they leak then replace.
