Dave,

It shocked me when I heard it. From what I have heard here and in other places, the Tube-framed bikes will cease production this year.

So the question then becomes, if there won't be a sport tourer based on the Firebolt "platform" will Buell get out of the Sport Touring market, or is there a "new" platform in the works?

did the Polaris mention if it came with an auto-pilot system? Cause from the looks it has a built in GPS unit. Now that makes a all purpose bar hopper.... plug in the co-ords of the fav watering holes and away you go......

Interesting testimony to what I enjoy about Buells....

The Buell folks are encouraging folks to get on the bike and have their photo taken.

The sign beside the NAS "keep off the bike"

Hooray to Buell!

I forgot one picture and two little tidbits:

Firebolt_under

The last bit was that the Pro Thunder Full fairing Firebolt was so "clean" that other bikes could not catch a draft behind it at Daytona!

And the reason that they are not using two inside out rotors and sticking with the conventional rotors on the race bike is that they paid top $$$ for those brakes, and they work well and want to get their money's worth.

I think if someone were to sit on that NAS, it might fall apart.

I wish Buell would start delivering XB9R's so that next year I can pick a used one up for $7500 and put a bore kit on it. I am sure somebody will come out with a larger throttle body by then too.
I wonder if 110rwhp is obtainable out of the XB. I dont think much weight can be shaved from the XB in street trim. Probably not more than 10lbs.
Just daydreaming working 7 days a week with snow on the ground.

Detroit,

See note #1 above:

1. The Pro Thunder Firebolts are still using the Fuel Injection, and the only difference in the airbox is that they removed the filter and altered the intake plumbing a bit. So the stock airbox can handle the extra HP. And to put the icing on the cake, the F.I. bikes fuel efficiency is THREE times better than the Dual Carbed X1's (30mpg vs 10 mpg).

Why does the Firebolt have extra mounting bosses on the frame? I keep hearing about fancy fairings and Turb.... scratch that.

I have this movie forming inside my head. I am walking towards a room with a B A logo on the door. I go inside and sit down. A meeting starts and I am asked to introduce myself.I stand up nervously and force myself to say the words that I thought would not leave my mouth. Hi I am Ross and I am a Buellaholic I have not laid eyes on,felt the throttle grip or heard the exhaust note of a Buell for 16 days. A gasp goes around the room I start to shake and sit down. This is what will happen to me if the delivery of my XB9R doesn't happen soon.In under 2 weeks I will be at the dealership just looking, smelling and hearing ,maybe bottling the atmosphere so as I can take small sniffs hoping that. I will survive until I can again throw a leg over and caress the throttle, setting loose the Buelligan inside of me.I am starting to relive my first ride just writing about it. Roll on delivery day.

Ken,

It's a cheap HP 210 camera, I got it for $160 last year at a Walmart.

It takes ok pictures, but it struggles in low light situations.

You can get much better cameras today for the same or less money.

Thanks for the camera input - I've got a Ricoh RDC5300 (2.3 mpix) - have never been really happy with it. I'll check out the websites. The info is appreciated.

I have to buy a digital camera for use on a construction site. Current choice is the Canon Elph.

I am wide open to any suggestions.

Elph is good, because it's so small.

A waterproof or water resistant camera might be worth considering.

Something with a good strong flash, as construction sites typically don't have the best lighting.

Something that won't freeze up or burn through batteries due to the cold weather.

Ping FrankO over on SacBORG. He works at State Street Camera should be able to steer you to the right camera for your needs.

Court:

I'd suggest hitting this site DPReview Homepage and read the reviews section. You should check out the forums too. I have found this site to be very informative.

For Christmans I bought my son a Fujifilm 6900z that he's extremely satisified with. They are NOT discontinued (as some say), rather simply hard to get. I purchased a Olympus 4040z a few months back too. Very small and I'm totally happy with the camera.

Read the detailed reviews there. Phil does an execellect job on his reviews. BTW, if you never hit my site yet, all the images there are from the 4040z.

BTW, Carl is a good source too, but I'd still read the reviews and forums and make your decision from there.

I have to agree with Blake.

Is that duct tape around the taillight or AL foil?
