Why--unless you have an M-2.The stainless polishes up real nice.Paint really likes a rougher surface to give some adhesion.Get VHT high heat exhaust paint.If you want another color than the stainless get em jet-coated. | ||

If you must use canned paint buy a can of brake clean, or laquer thinner. Scuff the bejezzeerers out of the pipe with scotch brite, then spray it with the brake clean or laquer thinner....try not to touch it afterwards while the brake clean or laquer thinner is drying, then paint it(Don't forget to shake the can). After it drys and is installed, heat the thing up slowly...warm it up till the pipe gets too hot to touch then shut it down and let it cool. Do this a couple of times to cure the paint. That ought to fix it! | ||

I just used the duplicolor high heat "ceramic" paint on my muffler...worked very well! I used the black...goldenboy9r did the same with his muffler but used the gray-silver color. VERY shiny! Looks almost like a satin polish. At anyrate that is some good rattle can stuff that most anyone can get! later, Nick |
