Mutt2jeff... and if you want to meet Erik Buell, pop over to the Buell site and sign up for the next homecoming. I would bet you will get the opportunity.

Unfortunately, with most events being well over 1000 miles away from where i live, it is hard to justify going. Maybe in a couple of years.

here's a good flattrack photo from the ama flattrack website:

It was amazing to watch, lap after lap, the rider's fighting the bikes, the track and each other!

"Unfortunately, with most events being well over 1000 miles away from where i live, it is hard to justify going." Most events are 15,000 miles away from here and have met up with Erik on a number of occasions.
Just remeber we come this way but once and are a long time dead.
So if it's somthing you would like to do don't put it off for a couple of years, just make it happen.( It's worth it)

DYNA - YOU ROCK!!!

Best photos I've ever seen of a bike event! I've been monotonously consistant in missing Daytona, Sturgis, etc. and your shots made it seem like I was there! THANKS! AL

Epiloge to Daytona,

For those who read my Daytona "Blog" you will recall that I was getting some awful noises coming from the primary side of the bike.

I finally got around to removing the primary cover this morning and here is what I found:

Loose Sprocket Nut
The engine output sprocket nut had come loose and was banging into the primary cover. Last year Karl and I replaced the output shaft seal on the bike and used an air wrench (and red loctite) to torque this nut back on the bike. Obviously not tight enough, the manual calls for 190-220 ft-pounds!

The nut's threads are stripped, so I have to go buy a new one, should be back on the road later today.

YEEOUCH! Hope it all works out Jose, atleast in my case I know the last one to take off that nut on my bike was the dealer when they replaced the stator.

Thanks

I would have fixed it today, but none of the dealers had this $3.00 nut in stock, oh well I should be back on the road soon.

Everyone having a good time under the Dunlawton bridge

main street in high gear, the cops were out but I thought they were certainly way toned down from what I have heard regarding previous years.

A very happening place....that is if you are into the archtypical biker lifestyle

Somehow for some reason I expected more out of Corbin..was a little bit of a letdown

Several areas had elaborate sand sculptures..one of the biggest & best was at the Broken Spoke..but wednesdays rains really messed them up.

More really hideous bartenders..cant recall if this was Dirty Harrys, Froggys or Full throttle.

I just noticed in this pic that Jake is actually waving..all week he tried to pretend like he didnt want his picture taken..but I know it was all a ruse. Great guy & he is still tearing it up at the age of 66..says this year was the most fun he can recall having in quite some time. I cant wait to do it again next year with him.

Dana trying to capture some of the local wildlife on his camera.

We had live music at the Ponce inlet & this guy was actually pretty damn good.

Ok, who invited all the Buellers??

We stopped here..dont know why though. Had a Buell sign out front but not 1 piece of anything Buell related..no bikes, t-shirts, hats, nothing. Coolice actually told them to take the damn sign down if they werent going to promote & sell the bikes: D

This was great, guy with a HD had a magna charger blower on it & wanted a dyno run done then he got pissed when the bike wouldnt even break 100 hp. Told the operator of the dyno to run it to 6500 but the dyno guy told him power was dropping off after 5000 & to rev it higher was useless..the owner didnt care & demanded a higher rpm run so the guy relented & ran it..of course the results were the same. Then the owner complained that his bike had a lot more power on the v-twin dyno drag truck..the dyno operator tried telling the guy those things are so inaccurate its not funny..but Mr Magna Charger wasnt hearing any of it..he wanted big HP bragging numbers even if they were an outright lie.

Should the sign say Bikers or Riders? I vote for riders.

This was at the HD display inside the Ocean center.
BTW..anyone besides us catch the name of the new XB Firebolt bodywork? Its called "shifter".

One of the Simms gaudy bikes.

American Thunder cake & a Performance Machine V-Rod.

Check out the concentration

Honda had displays of a lot of their old bikes..the entire Hurricane/CBR600 lineup was there..this is exactly like my old 91 model I had when they 1st came out.

They also had the Interceptor lineup including the RC30, RC45, etc

Cant recall if I posted this pic yet

And check out the trunk on this baby, some serious packing issues going on here. I guess the guy never heard of mass centralization.

The restaurants there were very accomodating as far as aloowing us to use entire tables for our gear.

Dyna...As usual, those are excellent pics of the event. I swear you and Jose ought to team up as Buell's official roving photographers.

And don't be concerned if you do any "reruns." With all you have posted, I don't thing anyone will notice or care.

Now thats a job I wouldnt mind having. I try & take pics I would like to look at over & over. Pics of static bikes are boring..much rather capture people in action.

Clyde..no problem.

How's the chowder?

Makes you wonder what happened to Fubar1.

The wife had to have this sticker

And then I had to have this

This little dog was full grown & cool as hell...cant recall the breed but it was a mix of Jack Russell & something else.

Not as disgusting as Boot Hill on main street..but it would certainly be a 2nd place contender for biggest dive.

Never did see Fred Flintstone...although im sure this is his ride.

This was the sand sculpture at Broken spoke..you can see the S&S logo & the Nascar..there was a lifesized alligator carved into the back side

Like Vegas for bikers. Bikes, lights, booze & wimmen.

And this is to let Jake know my camera never rests while on vacation: D One of the few times he wasnt going 150+mph.

Some big corn fed boys on sportbikes in Florida

Poor V-max needs to be rescued

Bling bling was definitely the key word

A few more from the Speedway that I have not posted yet.

Neil Hogdson
Neil Hogdson was MOBBED after the Superbike Race. He posed for every picture, signed every autograph, while still wearing his leathers.

Neil_2
In this pic the Brit Neil Hogdson "Superfan" handed him his phone so Neil could talk to the fan's wife. Neil went ahead and said something like "Ya hubby 's sitting 'ere with three umbrella girls around 'is arms!" The crowd loved it.
