I am getting ready to purchase a new XB9 S, SX or R and am concerned about getting the right model. I live in Iowa so there will not be much city riding, but still am concerned about comfort of the R over time. Being 6' tall and older I like the S or SX while on the floor. I have dealers with new and used 03's as well as 05 models. Any comments would be appreciated. JW

Depends completly on how you feel.
I am not an expert but the ergonomics are very different in both bikes.

Myself for me is hard the Rs, and actually got the s because I really liked that riding position.

Good luck....you will enjoy whichever you get.

I can only speak about the SX. I am 6'3" so I know your concern. I am surprisingly comfortable on the SX. I am told that I look too large for it, but in my opinion it is just right.

Ride em' both if you can! That's the only way you'll know.

If you get the "R" model, the low pegs go a long way. I'm 6'4" and fit really well on the "R" as long as the low pegs are on. I've taken a few 1300 mi. trips with no problems and my bike is my daily commuter as well...

I have had a the 9S and I now have a 12R. I am 5'8" tall with a 32" inseam. I like the R better. I have ridden both on long rides. I would ride both of them before you make your choice. I have pictures on the track and I even look big on the S model. Well good luck and check out Daves he can make you a great deal on anything you want.

I am 6'-3" tall and own a XB9SX. The combination of the low pegs and the taller seat make for a lot more room than the other models. I really feel like I fit on it better.

well this is my experience i hope it helps.
i wanted to get the s model as soon as it came out becuase the sitting position is much like the blast. I looked at the R and I was concerned of my back. The funny thing is that when i when to a Bike day in PA i took it for a ride becuase it was th only bike available since everyone beat me to the S. To my surprise i fell in love with the bike. Due of the layout of the bike I can ride it sitting upright when i want it and lean forward when i want ot do the twisties.
I rode the bike from Dc to Naggs head in 4.5 hours and no back pain.
the bike is so stirdy you can ride it with one hand on the handlebar.
if you get the S model be prepared not to take anyone on the back seat or your Girls butt will be halfway hanging out,lol

the R or SX will fit, but if you've got a wonky back, only your own experience will tell.

For an S ,i think you'll need a diff seat.

Welcome to BadWeb, Jack!!

As you know I'm an "R" fan. I'm real comfortable with the "R" pegs but that's what is great about these bikes since you can convert to "S" pegs quickly and easily to lessen the crouch.

Let's go for a ride as soon as SPRING decides to get here!!
