I was wondering what everyone thought of Clymer motorcycle repair manuals. I am looking into getting manual for my Harley. Are they a good tool to use or would a factory manual be better? I know they don't have them for the Buells, I checked, but a lot of people on here have other bikes and I was wondering if they used them and what they thought.

Thanks

The best motorcycle repair manual I've ever used was a Harley Service manual. Chilton's, Haynes or Clymer Manuals don't even come close. Spend the extra money for the Factory book. For what you get, it's a bargain.

my factory manual has been a world of help to me, they go even as far as having pull out oil travel diagrams in color, worth every penny.

Factory Service Manual AND Parts Manual. The Parts Manual diagrams are helpful in figuring out how things go back together. Ordering parts by number doesn't confuse the parts guy, and you always get the part you ordered, right or not.

The factory manual is by far the best one out there.

I have a Suzuki DR 650 factory manual and it SUCKs compared to the Buell one. The factory Suzuki manual did not even have the specs. for the cam chain, stack height for the clutch pack and several other things I needed to look up.

Spend the extra few dollars.

I bought a Clymer's and it did not help much, so I actually went and purchased the HD service manual for my Electra Glide. Spend the extra money and purchase the Service Manual form HD.

Utter Crap!!

I've never been able to find any that were half as helpful as the factory version.
