We've all see after the fact photos, but here is the first "video" I've run across. Doesn't appear that the rider was going too very fast - was wearing gear & ok. But I keep running the video again and again over where the deer pops out and leading up to it. Little guy literally seems to come out of nowhere!

Now THAT'S a high-side! Full 360-degree rotation and a twist after impact!

The judge from Texas gives it a 7.9!

Ouch. I see deer almost every day leaving my house in the morning and most days coming home. They do come out of nowhere. They tend to leap over fences by the side of road, so they have some pretty good speed when they cross in front of you and they don't have much of a chance to get out of your way once they decide to make the jump.

On my way back from Pennsylvania a couple summers ago I had a group of 5 cars pass me. Right after passing 3 moved into the right lane with the other 2 on their left. Just then a deer came out of the right ditch and ran between 2 of the cars on the right and came out in front of the 2nd car in the left lane. He jumped over the top of the hood as it went by.
As soon as I saw the deer I was on the brakes expecting a huge pile up. Not one of the cars ever stepped on the brakes or swerved, it all happened so fast. The funny thing was though, the car whose hood the deer jumped over immediately pulled off the road.
Either his heart was beating so fast he needed to calm down, or his shorts were soiled.
