I was wondering if anybody knows a good back road route from Louisville (actually Ft. Knox/Radcliff) KY to Warren, MI?

I'm planning on a trip sometime this spring or early summer.

From here to Ohio is a poop load of back roads.
You best bet would be to get out your BRAG atlas and go to town.

The only road I know of it 24 which extends from the thumb to Bowlingreen Ohio

A good backroad route would include lots of hilly curvy roads! Uhmmm find the roads on your map that don't go through many towns and are really squiggly!!! That's the best way to do it. Have fun! Should be a beautiful ride!

I can make a suggestion from Cincinnati to Detroit
Try taking 27 from Cincinnati to Coldwater (where
I live) and take US 12 from Coldwater to Detroit.
It's out of the way, but I would say it would be
a great ride. If you decide to take that route,
let me know and we can meet up.
Hope I could help.
Steve

Hmmm... Why travel to Michigan? I still have relatives that live in the Metro Detroit area and would like to visit them. I grew up in Warren and left the state September 1, 1983 for Ft. Benning, GA to start my Army adventure. 13 years later with my wife (BTW is from Battle Creek & retired Army), we decided to put our roots down here in the Bluegrass State. We only come to Michigan to visit and that's it.

US 12 from Coldwater to Detroit is a decent road which I have traveled many times. I use it every time I have to stop off at my sister's-in-law house on Lake George on the way to my parent's house in Warren.

I'm looking over my trusty trucker road atlas and planing my route. This trip should be interesting.
