Who do you use and what have been your experiences and prices????

My dad just bought a K1200LT-C off e-bay. He is trying to find the best shipping deal to get the bike to Chicago. I already offered to ride it home, but he said no.

Thanks in advance.

Where is it at?

I shipped the M2 home from Seattle to Hal's and had no problem using DailyDirect at haulbikes.com .

Good point mike.

The bike will have to go from NH to Chicago.

I got a discount because my sister delivered it to their warehouse dock in Kent just south of Seattle allowing their driver to pick it up at his convenience, and in having it delivered to Hal's which also was their regular stop. They could have picked it up from my sister's house but that would have meant coordinating a time with the driver or might have meant the driver would have to sit and wait for someone to get home, it also would have meant the driver would have had to negotiate a residential neighborhood.

Business to business with a loading dock on both ends should get you a good discount. Also, if there are any large bike events coming up (Laconia?) or if any large shipments are headed to where the bike is now (like back from Daytona) and if you can be flexible on the pickup date then you can also maybe get a discount because they hate to run empty trucks. I could almost guarantee there is a truck heading back to NH right after BikeWeek is over and then heading towards Hal's right after that. Could be perfect.

There are other carriers as well, just depends on how cooperative the bike owner is.

Then again it's about 900 miles from Chicago to NH according to Mapquest so it's possibly doable in a weekend roadtrip to go get it.

Try ForwardAir (if they're close to a fairly major city).

Other option is DailyDirect. They will pick up and deliver to any address. I used them for one of my bikes (the old S3T that donated it's motor for my S1W). They're based out of Milwaukee and specialize in motorcycle delivery. Because of Bike Week, they may be overloaded for the next few weeks.

Good luck!!!

J C Motors, part of North American Van Lines. I have used them twice. $650 each time from CT and PA to TX. They pick up and deliver door to door. Only requires the gas to be drained. They put it on a skid with 4 straps and a cover then place it in a moving van. And you get to keep the straps and cover. Call Bryan at 800-730-3151.

I had my XB9 shipped from Miami to Jersey for $265. It was shipped business to business which is at a lower rate. It was on a skid when they picked it up. I forgot the name of the shipper but I could probably dig it out if anyone needs it.

Thanks for the information...keep it coming.

It will be shipped business to business, as my dad plans to take deliver at his office (manufacturing plant).

I will pass along the information.

I had my new xb9s shipped from DAVES to my home by daily direct. Awesome service, the driver (Charlie) was actually a buell owner, he put the bike in my garage for me and gave me the run down of my bike as well as helped me inspect it. He didn't leave until I started the bike. Very good service and when I purchase my next bike from DAVES I will use them again. I think i paid $385.00 from Appleton WI to New Jersey. Oh and I didn't have to have the gas drained or anything special done.

You pay the airfare, I'll fly over & deliver it for you. Hell I'll even clean it too!
