Leftcoastal, you got a beautiful bike there. It is one of the two that convinced me to get an S2. Why would you want to sell it?

To answer a couple of questions - The turbo is not for sale as a separate unit, it failed to properly digest a small washer and needs to be repaired, then it gets re-installed on the bike. I have been investing any extra cash in my wife's new business venture and have not sprung for the repair as yet. I have had it since '98 and might be considering other projects or a different bike. You could buy the turbo for maybe in the range of 7 1/2 thou. and I would throw in the rest of the bike for free! Basti, last fall there was a complete turbo unit for and S2 for sale on eBay, by a Harley Dealer in North Carolina, USA - It didn't sell, if I remember right. Could be available still. Maybe someone on this board knows about it. I'm not sure it would fit your bike, the turbo mounts to a bracket that attaches to the left side of the boss on the front of the motor that the front shock mount is bolted to. The turbo sets directly in front of the primary chain cover and protrudes a couple of inches to the left of the cover.

I'm sure you would NOT consider modifying the bodiwork on your bike to fit such a thing. If you did so , a bunch of us will be flying to Germany to KICK YOUR !

To alter what is arguably one of the rarest and MOST BEAUTIFUL bikes ever built would upset us all! That bike of yours is AWESOME!

Hi Allan
ups didn't want to scare you it was just a joke to fit a Turbo to the RR, it took me so long to get one (and to pay for it)and i'm enyoing the bike so much that will never do any harm to the bike. I was just intereted in your RSS. A Friend of mine also builds a RSS Turbo (see www.hillbilly-motors.de and then projects) but yours seems to be much nicer! He has also complete Turbo sets to fit for buell.

I'd be on that flight. I've got a pretty comprehensive RR1200 library here and have spent some time riding them. One of my favorites. There was something alluring about the reliable Evo engine in the gorgeous bodywork.

Hi Court
I really love the RR and will never change the Bodywork or something else. You are invited to come to Germany but please don't kick my ....but i know a .... we can kick and that's why

this is RR1000 Nr.13 in the condition I found it in a german backyard, the current owner wanted to sell it and i wanted to buy it but we didn't make the deal. But i'll keep watching the bike and someday hopefully restore it. I'll keep you informed ( I count on all of you for missing parts)

Basti:

So you have No. 13 now?

If so, send me some detailed pictures and, if you are comfortable, the VIN.

I'll do some background and, with the help of your pictures, look for any possible hurdles to rebuilding.

One thing that will impact this is how soon we get wound up in Iraq.

If you don't have that bike.....GET IT!

Does any one know where the thread is that is the "REMIND COURT TO TELL US ABOUT THE...." thread? I can't find it and, while it may be old age and resultant forgetfulness that's causing it, I can't actually recall him EVER telling us anything other than to remind him. Remind me if I'm mistaken, OK?

Jim
you can find all the information you need directly on their web page www.hillbilly-motors.de and then directly to superchargers or turbochargers. Hillbilly is also a new sponsor to this site, so you should have alink here and as far as I know you can choose english as language on the site. If there's anything you can't understand because it's german, tell me and i'll try to translate it and if you need anything tell me, I can make the call.
Court
i'm sorry I have not bought NR13 because the owner wanted too much Euros for the condition and I talked to the first owner who dragraced the bike and his advice was to keep fingers off the bike, because the engine is nearly at it's end. As far as I know the engine is not running but as I said I'll keep watching the bike and someday? But there is another RR1000 around here in Germany but I haven't found the complete bike yet but I bought the front wheel and brakes from that bike years ago on a swap meet but the seller had no Information from the rest of the bike and I even don't no the VIN of it.But as i said I'll keep you informed, because this is my only hobby looking for RR Buells in Europe.

>>>because the engine is nearly at it's end

All XR-1000's LIVE near their end.

What Aaron and Co. did at Bonneville, shooting one full throttle down the salt time and time again, was virtually unheard of.

I became used to hearing the clanking in late summer and dropping the bike and $2500 off each fall to Topeka HD/Buell.

But....when those carbs were wide open...NOTHING sounded better.

Keep trackgin that bike.....and let me know if you need help.

Basti--
It's nice to be a Preis, higher to be a Bayer. But if you want the highest rankin', you must come from Unter Franken. Or so I was told, damals. Tell me, does a local pub in Bamberg still brew smoked hops Bamberger Rauchbier in the basement?

Is that RR1000 still in the Harley shop in Milan/Milano/Miland?

Hi Karl
I know this rankin and it's absolutely true!!!
And yes we still have our Rauchbier and much more than that. Have you been to Bamberg and when?
The RR1000 in Milan still exist, i'll post some pictures.

Basti-
I kept a flat in Weurzburg for some years back in the 1980s while working im Osten vor dem Fall. Naturally, one enjoys time off by searching out a decent Kneipe on weekends. Bamburger Rauchbier sticks in my mind because I drank too much of it and began to speak halb Polnish, halb Kauderwelsch with a Norwegian accent, causing my companions to not only laugh, but to accuse me of not really being an Ami. Komisch at the time. Still, it was a fine era to "hang out" in Germany. Then again, I suspect now is a fine era to do so. I still have my Europaischen Gemeinschaften Furerschein mit "Zweirader, auch mit Beiwagen," endorsement. I was told it does not expire.

As exclusive Sammlerstuck, a fine or destinctive vehicle is one that was high-priced when new and built in limited quantities. Buells from 1987 through 1996 are arguably quite underpriced in the US. Every day these early S2 & S1 bikes, selling for much less than equivalent Sportsters, are cannibalized to build Redneck choppers. With the Euro at 1.30 to the USD, we essentially offer Buells as Sonderangebot to our friends across the Atlantic. If you need another five or six RRs, no one round here is buying them.

Do the RR1000 or RR1200 bodywork f.glass molds survive?
