If your exhaust points to the rear, many choices. I like the sound and tune-ability of the SuperTrapp of Vance&Hines.
Ratbuell links to the Buell version SuperTrapp which is available and has the 90 degree elbow at the front.

Stonemaster, your M2 has the 2" or the 2.5" collector?

An '02 would have 2.5" if its stock. Anything '99-up is 2.5" and thunderstorm.

Rat, sure, but in Europe -even if with thunderstorm heads- they are 2.00" only.

Does anyone know how much that 2" header affected the thunderstorm heads? I know the normal S1 was supposed to have around 91 hp, and the S1w had about 10hp over that. How did the European thunderstorm bikes compare?

I'd like to get some head work done someday but always wondered if the 2" headers would hold it back much.

Upthemaiden, I had my S1W (with Thunderstorm) and 2" header. (European).
I changed to a 2.5" collector with the Race Pro Series system.
At the beginning I was amazed by difference, then I thought to a placebo effect, then I've been accustomed day by day to the new performance, and then NOW I can't say if it's different.
A dyno with the 2 system would be the solution, but honestly i don't want to put it on the dyno and having the hassle to swap the exhaust system during the runs.
I have to say that in Europe in the 1998 the S1W was advertised at 101 HP regardless the diameter of header.

I have a Vance and Hines carbon fiber slip on, on my '96 Lightening. I think the packing is starting to blow out.

You want more "sound"....you will certainly get it with that!! Lol!!!

I swapped from a 2.5 header on my S3 to a 2.0 header and did not notice any difference but I run a mikuni and a very short basically straight through slip on.
