Old News..
They
( current owners of "Buell motorcycle" )
need a new product, and they have no entry in the "cruiser" market. It is a sizable segment.

it looks to be a pocket rocket,

Compared to the 800+lb indians and harleys
yeah its of interest. a lot of 1190 bits and bobs on it.
I wish RS had taken some cues from the X1/S1 vs HD oh wait they did that already (sorta)

You remember the term UJM, this is UAM?
is said to be just over 500 lbs, 175 peak HP
good suspension, if the geometry is right and hiding the battery and other electrics does not cause problems who knows.

Haters much?

I like it, and hope it sells.

All that power. Super cruiser indeed. I love what they are doing. The product line is a very impressive lineup of motorcycle performance and actual fun value. Most people love what Polaris is doing with Indian.

If you ask me, all of this stuff is just parts bin garbage that squanders what little credit is left of Buell's good name and legacy. If someone where to really pick up where Eric left off, with like a spiritual successor to the X1 or the XB series, that would be a different story. This really ain't it though.

As much as I'd love to see a spiritual successor to the tuber or XB series, my thought is that the real spiritual successors are the 1190 bikes, as I feel those are the bikes Erik really wanted to build, without Harley limiting the spec with the Sportster based motors.

The Super Cruiser is OK, but I'd never buy one, and the "closer to production" version of the Super Tourer is much nicer than that hot garbage abomination they were showing off.

That said, the bikes with the Sportster based motor are my favorites.

I agree the Spiritual successors to the X1 and XBs are the 1190 bikes. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

The condemnation of the latest version of Buell is laughable to me. God forbid a US based company with US Workers try to build bikes and sell a mountain of left over parts. Shame on them.... Shame on Capitalism...

I agree too. If they can afford to do with a FXR frame more power to them. In any case good bike to demo the 1190 power house to more bikers.

Don't get me wrong, I owned an 1125r and it was fkin bananas (great handling too), but even though that's when Erik finally got the power/engine he wanted, I think the happy/unhappy marriage with HD actually resulted in the perfectly balanced bike - for me anyway. The 90hp or thereabouts those old air cooled bikes made was just perfect for the road. Not to mention the character it added.

If you add another 100hp to that you end up with something that's mostly pointless and the current market reflects that. Superbikes are mostly gone and when they're still made, they're super expensive niche products. (not that this fxr homage is a superbike, but it has superbike power at least).

Middleweights is where it's at. Buell was just ahead of its time in a way.

Rambling a bit, but yeah, uh that FXR thing is a pretty cool homage, but it's nothing more than that. Not something that looks forward or looks to pick up with the forward thinking mentality that made Buell special in the first place.

It's obvious they don't have the development budget to build a new platform that does those things, so it's hard to fault them for building frankenstein things from whatever's left lying around.

"God forbid a US based company with US Workers try to build bikes and sell a mountain of left over parts. Shame on them.... Shame on Capitalism..."

I don't necessarily disagree with this by the way, but if this is the route they're going for now, just call a spade a spade.

Whats obvious to me is that there is a market for a Muscle Bike cruiser. In the 30-40 crowd, personally would be more open to this as a solution than throwing 30k on a stage 4 HD. As we all know thats building on sand. A weak pressed together crank. A wealthy 50 yo customer could appreciate this bike a lot too. That would mean too that a stage 5 in a 40-50k Bike in a touring platform could now not be necessary. A solution I would prefer.

Or you can call Neo at Arch Motorcycles and spend 70-100k?

I cant leave out the BMW Grand America. The only tour platform with HP like Buell.

Absolutely see less F16 sportbikes on the road now.

The last bike I had before my S1 was a Speed Triple. That motor was amazing, but considering the only time I really get to ride anymore is on my commute to work, it was overkill for sure. Rarely got that thing over 50mph, and barely got to really twist that throttle. Switched to the S1 and the power was great for how I ride, and the S1 feels like it's only half as wide as the Striple was. It really does make riding more enjoyable. All that being said... I do still need own a Superduke someday just to experience that craziness.

Yes!! My S1 was perfect for me, on the street.
It is a two wheeled, two cylinder CORVETTE!!
Just brute muscle and noise!!! And PLENTY enough to get a LOT of speeding tickets!! Lol!!
I need NOTHING more!!
