Did the 98 S1W come with that brace going from the main frame tubing to the front tiebar mount? The one that companies would sell a clamp on brace for?

Not that its a bad thing, and I considered adding that to my 97 S1. I just didnt think that came along until the later X1/S3 bikes.

I think that only became standard for the later bikes. This looks to be an after market part as well.

I’d have to verify, but I believe 1999 was the first year for the frame to have the brace - which was a welded tube.
A bolt-in brace was never used in production.
