Travis -
Tell us more about your bike / restoration. And what number (last 4 of VIN) is it? There are so few S2T's around...

Tigermann, big restoration, 0114. I bought it new, put about 26,000 miles on her. Friend of mine bugged the crap out of me to own it. I had another Harley, and a bunch of projects going, so I figured it was going to a good home. He had all these custom ideas for it, powder coat, paint, chrome.. Tore it down, let it sit. Found a custom Sportster frame and started taking parts from the pile to feed the build. Got 1/2 way and stopped that build. Well, after all this time, I got old girl back to give new life. It is like being on the Buell assembly line, trying to figure it out. Well worth the wait.

I might have an S2 tank. For the Quicksilver, do you need the AC backing plate - what do you mean by “cover”?
Thanks.

Screamer, the S2 has a plastic fuel cell (tank) and a fiberglass cover that fits over that, which connects to the front of the tail section by 4 fasteners. The tank cover was quicksilver metallic in color. Thanks

Good on you for saving the bike. S2's are gorgeous (and rare).

Yeah, kick myself over and over, as I go through the pile of stuff to see what's missing. The saying is so true.. you don't know how much you miss something till it's gone. Never realized what a part search mission it was going to be. It will definitely be staying this time, too many tears and blood. By the way, this site is so awesome, just love the Buell support. Mr. Buell should consider manufacturing parts for his creations, he could make a great living on that alone. Keep it here in America, and support the BRAG team. I would buy from his website only.

I misunderstood - for some reason my mind went to the Early California-equipped Quicksilver carb. I’ll check on a tank today.
