X1 is back on the road but found a problem. So I have the Neutral light blinking at me. Checked wire and NPF.

So my Left Field theory is that the new led turn signals and LED turn signal relay are with the circuit. I read the stuff about some of the defective speedos that caused this problem. moco replaced them under warranty. That wasn't Buell specific and was way before X1.

So I just rotated the neutral wire a few times and shot it with some contact cleaner.
All I know is the clip and all that was rock solid 15000 miles ago. No trouble getting Neutral to shine solid green. Kickstand has been jumped for over a decade. No problems starting.
The headlight was off. Didnt disturb the wires that much.

Might do to unplug the neutral light switch itself from the harness and try riding for a while. If the light stays off, then the switch is going/trying to go bad.

Hope this helps, Dave

Thanks Dave
Yeah it will get to me after a while. Relays died on the table and now this. Deep down I was foolishly hoping I would never have to remove that pulley. Transmission is performing very good and is smooth as silk. I have only run sport trans in it.

Is it on all the time? I know my neutral light likes to come on when I get caught in the rain. Those little lights are tough anymore anyway. The turn signal indicators don't work, neutral does what it wants... just hoping for the best with that oil pressure light, that it'll come on if I ever need it haha

Its acting better since I have been riding it sometimes. One day the problem was gone 100 percent but came back.

Could be the neutral light connection? can you test it with a multimeter?

Mine died not long ago and had to replace it.

Im done working on it. Ill replace the switch later. Now the light gets brighter as the rpms rev and are high. Then the light fades and goes dark on low rpms. Its just funny now. Like Dave said its failing to ground or a wire is finding ground. its the only way it lights- need a ground.
