Cvc, in BC Canada (government run) insurance costs are based on the value and the size of the engine. Some bikes are written off simply by the bike falling over and the fairings damaged. That’s why I only insure my bikes 3 months at a time.

Thanks/ going to make a note. Bike is on the the table until spring. Then Ill get to that part. If we get a drought in the midwest and warm weather maybe I can sqeeze the Bosch FI testing and fuel pump clean up in march/april.

FYI dont put off changing your Intake Seals. Get the New Style Thicker ones every two years.

Oof, no thanks. I'll do that leak test to see if they need changing, but that is an awful thing to be doing that often, haha.

I pulled the Throttle body on my 06 (35,000 miles) Uly last summer - assuming the seals were due to be changed. They were the original seals. The seals were still compressed and sealing well - they didn’t need to be changed. The injector o-rings, however were very hard and had significant evidence of leakage.
Changing seals on a tube-frame is easier than an XB, but if assembled correctly, they shouldn’t need to be changed very frequently. I have a few Tubeframes that haven’t had the seals changed in over a decade, but have no “leaking intake” symptoms or behavior.
I think mileage accumulation might be more of a factor than time.

Yeah I wasnt thinking. Every two years with stock James parts was the old saying. The thicker ones are a problem solver. Should last way longer. Looks to be about 25 percent more runner there.
