Unless you're going to be making over 90hp, then why? There are many more resources on fitting, tuning and troubleshooting the stock CV carb than the S&S setup.

However, if you are well versed and knowledgeable on this, then go for it...

I'm gonna use it, I got a manifold coming specific for S & S conversion. S & S made em for Buell applications, called the factory and they were being discontinued, I got the last one, it has a nipple for the VOES

I always loved the Shorty E. That was the carb for me to go to years ago on my big twins. Never put one on my Buell's maybe because I was single back then and now it is cheaper for me to buy the CV performance upgrades for the stock CV carb. Let us know how it turns out. I always preferred the choke on the Shorty E on top of the air cleaner instead of reaching around under the gas tank.

Just a suggestion...the M2 motor LOVES the HSR42 flat slide. Gotcher accelerator pump, gotcher VOES hookup, easy peasy to tune and bolts right up, no adapters required. Main jet can be changed without removing the bowl, what's not to like!

Forgot to mention...you can buy the HSR with a specific kit that comes ready for the Buells. Makes it a snap to install as it comes with new choke cable, etc...

"you can buy the HSR with a specific kit"

I believe the kit is the "Easy Kit"...

Only other issue (IIRC) is that you have to relocate the throttle cable Ty-Wraps to the left frame rail from the right, as the entry angle is different. I probably have pictures somewhere if anyone needs to see them.

Since you're going with the S&S put a Thunderjet in it. Thought they ere snake oil till I tried one. Only reason I did was the shop I worked at people kept asking me about them and I didn't have an answer for them.Much better throttle response.

took the bike out for a test ride with the new carb S&S, what a improvement, not much to it, getting a manifold to attach it to would be the challenge, S&S has discontinued this manifold ( a sporty manifold wont work) there are a couple still out there from dealers (vintage v-twin for one)and a different cable guide for CV cables (plenty of those around as big twins and sportys use them as well for conversions on those). teardrop air cleaner wouldnt work so I went aftermarket and used breather bolts, ran great, minor adjustments necessary but pleased so far
