Just posting here to vent because no one else in my normal life understands what I missed out on haha. Over the weekend someone listed this incomplete untitled(and yes I would've checked the vin to make sure it wasn't stolen) S3 for $850 about 45 minutes away from me. I sent him a message, made plans to go check it out, waited till we got the kids down for their nap, ramp in the truck, stopped at the atm, send him a message saying I grabbed the money and was on the way. A couple minutes later, mere seconds before I hit the turnpike onramp I got a message back saying it has been sold. I've been thoroughly bummed since then. Needless to say, that's not a deal I'll likely ever find again.  | ||

Right, I've checked ebay a few times already out of curiosity. Middle of winter in Pittsburgh, there's a good chance it won't get pulled apart until spring. | ||

I saw that, he listed it the very next day like he just wanted to rub salt in the wounds haha. I was happier not knowing it even included a Westek frame brace on the left side and a carbon fiber fender. He originally listed it at $1200, then dropped the price down to $1000. I put it on my watch list, but the timing is bad and I don't really have much more to spend on a project than what it was originally sold for. It was hard to tell from the angle of the picture, I know the back wheel is crooked because there's no angle, but from the left side it really looks like the swingarm is spread apart and bent too. | ||

$150 is the difference between such an amazing deal ' it might be stolen' and you drop everything to grab it... or 'the timing is bad'? C'mon man, go get it!  | ||

I'm not sure I fully understood that sentence... but yeah I'm keeping an eye on it haha. I've got a 'sell pile' that's been sitting in the garage for a while now. Maybe I can try to move a couple things by the time the auction ends. I know ebay charges you tax now, wonder if you can avoid that if you pay cash and save $70, or if ebay still tries to bill you for it. |
