I've been looking into replacing my headlight. Yesterday I pulled it apart just to see what I was getting into, since most of the replacements are just the actual light and don't include the bucket. I noticed that my 7" light is actually closer to 7.75". I dug around on the forum a bit, see that the X1 and S1 use lights from Bosch, while the M2 used a 7" Hella light. So my options are to either find a new light that's 7.75", which there aren't a lot of, or replace my bucket with a 7" from another bike. My concern is that if I switch over to a 7" light, there's gonna be a big gap between the light and the flyscreen. Anyone dealt with this on an S1 or X1? do they look ok with a 7" headlight? |

I was looking at X1s on you tube last night. Here is what looks like the Eagle 2 with Halo. These lights at 7 inch and go into Indians and HD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sdH-U-ERrw Its a drop in into our HL bucket. I'm not too familiar with headlights. When you say "HL bucket", are different sizes of headlight buckets coded different? I wasn't sure what HL stood for. That headlight looks nice. I was just looking at some of the cheap knockoffs on amazon. The reviews are pretty good, and I don't ever ride at night so I was just going for something that didn't look quite as dated. I see their website just has it listed as a 7", do you know that they're actually a little larger that it would drop into the larger bucket? I can see his actually has about a 1/4" gap between the headlight and his flyscreen, which is what I was mostly worried about, but it looks fine. With that gap I'm assuming he switched his bucket to a normal 7" to get the LED light to fit. |
