starter motor stopped 3 weeks ago on my x1 efi, 99 model, order a new one from us, and replaced it today, bike has been without battery 3 weeks, but charged it and starter motor works well, but no i have no spark on spark plugs, and the speedo/tacho meter dont get to up peek and down as before when i turn ignition on.
side stand switch is ok, clutch switch bypass, i hear fuel pump start and stop when pressure is ok. someone with some tips /advise?

A few thoughts:

If it was working properly before the starter change, carefully go over everything that was moved/unplugged/adjusted, ect, and confirm that the item(s) were properly placed in prechange position.

Turn the ign switch to ACC position and make sure all works as it should. Then go to IGN and wiggle the key. If the needles sweep, then the switch (It is 20 yrs old) is most likely the culprit.

Try pulling and installing the relays. The prongs may have corrosion. Then try swapping them around.

Nothing wrong with bypassing the ignition switch to eliminate that from the system.
