Y'all may have noticed me hangin' around here again...after a long absence. I'm guessing years, offhand, other than to pop in for a quick look around. This place was my daily hangout for years; in fact, I joined this forum even before I bought my '99 M2 Cyclone back in '02, mainly to do the research on what model Buell I wanted to buy, and what mods I might want to do and getting input as to what's hot/what's not from this forum. In fact, this was the very first online public forum I ever joined, now that I mention it. I wasn't even online until maybe 2000...but I digress. The reason I guess I drifted away was because once I had my mods done and bugs worked out, I spent more time just ridin' the darn thing, unless there was an issue or I needed info. But now that I've returned, I noticed immediately that several of the mainstays of this forum are long gone, not having posted in many years, or I'm slowly finding out they've passed on (as with Buellistic).
Maybe they've sold their Buell, given up riding altogether, had maybe a life-changing event...there are probably myriad reasons to turn over a new leaf and move on with life. I still remember when buckinfubba announced he was pulling the plug on the interweb and moving down by the crick so he could go fishin'...there are others, too. What ever happened to Reepicheep? Anyway, it's good to see some old familiar names, and some new ones as well, as this little community slowly shrinks with the remaining Buell fleet. I'm glad my Buell trans issues sort of drew me out of hibernation and back home here.
Bottom line; glad to be back. It's been way too long.

Been nice to have you(and your transmission problems) around. This is the busiest this forum has been in a while! I feel like there has been a noticeable slow down in the past year. I assume it'd pick up when winter came and people were going through riding withdrawal, but it really didn't. I used to check the forums all day while I was at work, lately I've been checking them in the morning when I get here, and then I'd check again the next morning hoping for some posts.

I remember Reepicheep, so he must've been here within the past few years(got my S1 in 2016). My bike doesn't have any major issues, but there's a ton of stuff that could be fixed up and updated, so I've got enough to keep me around at least for a while. Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to have my bike running so perfect I don't need to come here for research.

Thanks for the compliment!
According to his profile, Bill (Reepicheep) was last logged on August of 2018. While not a huge tract of time, it's well over a year and the "logged on" part is a little disconcerting. That means not even checking in. Back when I joined, even posting a photo took an act of congress! Snap a pic or two, then after all was finished for the night, transfer them to my desktop hard drive (which took a lot of time), THEN attach them to the posts via the attachment feature...whew! I'm tired just thinking about it. At any rate, snapping dozens of pix with a cell phone and immediately sending them to my photo hosting site makes them immediately available for posting directly to the text box anywhere I can log in from (including work!)
Bottom line; I see us lately as "keepers of the flame", if you will...owners of orphans that even Erik Buell (bless his soul) has moved on past. It's up to us to keep it alive, in this day and age when you can find a service manual only on eBay for well over a hundred dollars...maybe. If you're lucky. Anything I can share to help make it easier for a new (old) Buell owner just makes our community better. After all, knowledge taken to the grave is wasted and lost forever. It's safe to assume most everyone here has a cell phone with camera function. I'd love to see more "how I did this" threads, especially in the Old School section. Sharing is really what it's all about...

It’s wonderful to see you return and fret not. . . . Most those characters. . . Though less visible here ... are healthy and still up to amazing things.

I am in contact wit( most of them and have spoken to both Paul and Grizzly in the past week.

Looks like a giant Zoom reunion may be in the works.

There are a host of folks. . . .too many to name. . . . That have materially influenced, improved and generally made all of our collective Buell ownership and association experiences better.

Absent folks like Roadthing, Rep and Froggy .....many, myself included, would be up the creek without a paddle.

By the way . . . .i could name 84 more.

‘‘Tis the wonder of “The World of Buell”

Thanks for the (re)welcome, Court!
Feels like a family reunion, of sorts.
One thing's for sure...there's never been a hooligan bike built...before or since...that grabs me the way the tube frame Buells do.

>>> "...a Zoom reunion..."

Does that mean at the Salt Flats or Road America?
