I usually pride myself for not being seduced by paint schemes, but that sunburst orange paint with the blue frame is so hot. Even with the blemishes it still looks hot.
When I bought mine in 2015 the tank didn't match the fairing didn't match either wheel, it was perfect for a colorblind world and it was terrifying to ride home, but hey, it was mine. I got pretty good with spray paint and now it is nuclear blue with orange wheels. This one is the daily rider, the parts bike was slightly prettier.

When I bought my X1 used, it was red with 1 black wheel. I told the sales guy I'd buy it if he did something about the red. His brother worked at a shop in another city and they swapped the red for black. You have to like your bikes looks. It's all part of the ride!

I have my R1150R Rockster listed on local Craigslist: https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/mcy/d/dahlonega-2004-bmw-r1150r-rockster/7115535147.html
When it sells I'll call a friend who claims he wants my DS1000 Multistrada.I'm trying to simplify my life, get some of the space back in my garage.

I want to replace those two with the right M2,preferably Blue Streak.Does anyone know if they offered Blue Streak through '02?
Oh yea,the M2 will be a stablemate for my Guzzi.

So are you actually looking for something to add to your collection or just looking? :P

Actually just window shopping at present. I'd have to get rid of a few project bikes to free up the space in my garage. Although I really didn't have room when I bought them, either...
The S1 is such a visually exciting machine, especially "in color".

Yep, I think it's a contender for best looking bike ever made.

The seat now has a scar from the fire last year which I haven't yet fixed. The fluorescent light above the bike exploded and melted a bit of the vinyl but it is still very rideable. I lost the S3 fairing and the tank in the fire. The tank bubbled after exposure to the heat which melted the fairing over the handlebars. I painted replacements purchased off our own Badweb Classifieds. A lot of scrubbing was involved to remove the smoky smell. Restoring the bike has really helped me get over the fire. The gypsum board got textured at the house which is being totally rebuilt, so it won't be long until we can move back and I will have my own garage again!!!

Buellish, Yes, they made the M2 in Blue Streak through '02. I bought mine in '03, then sold in '06. Missed it and bought a black one in '10 with only 4k miles on it, to replace the blue one. Still missed the blue so I painted it two years later. 24 k miles so far. It's a keeper for life.

I'll second the "gorgeous"! What's the little tab for in the middle of the seat by the grab strap?

Jamie,I'm not a big fan of the PM wheels but that has to be one of the best looking M2's I've seen! When I had my Parkway Blue S2T I had dreams of turning it into a Parkway Blue Racing Stripe, like the X1's only with even width stripes.I did have the powdercoat removed from the Marchesini's and had them polished.

Thanks for the kind words.
Captainkirk, The seat tab you ask about is one of the four cloth loops that are used to bungee things like my lunch box when riding to work. (They are normally tucked under the seat.) The black bracket partially visible near the rear reflector is a mount I added for a small removable backrest for an occasional passenger. I have since added removable hard saddle bags and brackets that better hold my lunch and other stuff.

I just noticed you have the chin fairing as well. My brother has one on his '97 and it looks great...as does yours!

Michael, I have one of 15 2001 MG V11 Sport TT’s. It’s amazing how the parts bin of the time must have been shared by Buell tubers and MG. Then I looked at the cluster on my 1125, it says Magneti Marelli at the bottom!

Look at the tail light on your Guzzi and think S1.

I must have sat on six or seven V11 Sports and didn't care for the riding position. Then I found the Ballabio with upright tubular bars.

The adage is that they are like driving a tractor. Clunky gearbox, flat torque, they are smooth as can be. In the same power range as the Buell lightning motors (91hp crank, 76-78rwhp). Dry clutch rattle like a duc. But they are addicting. A friend of mine on here (Jolly) let me ride one of his, now I have two. Unfortunately, if you also have a MG in the garage, the Buell may sit more. I’d just rather throw a leg over the MG. Idk why, both engines sing their own style of soothing music. I do get the urge to hooligan on the S1 sometimes, and the MG just can’t - but man they are cool bikes.

Sounds interesting. And I do like the look of them. Luckily there's no more room in the garage. For now...
