I used the XB rocker box conversion and plugged them with button head bolts.

Before that I used a crush washer.

Good luck

Didn’t it originally call for Hylomar on the bolts? From memory so I could be wrong....

Why are you getting rid of the XB rocker box conversion?

Jolly they constantly leak, just the rear actually. I'm going to original covers with breather fittings to a catch can now. Hope that will be better, or at least drier.

HMM is this issue on a a carbed or injected HD or rotax motor? On the 1200 carbed head breather, XL and big twin the problem with seepage at rockers and banjos was the crap chrome breather tube, way too small, and one line fed into the other, instead of both lines run to carb backin plate, think its the same for injected. Caused pressure that had to go somewhere,so it seeped at the rockers and banjos. Hope this helped..Pitch that crossover tube! If someone needs a picture of what I am describing, let me know or somebody post,I am challenged that way,lol

Looks like 2 washers are missing, have to be on both sides of fitting and must be the same thickness,The issues I described are from runnin the rear line to the front then to the breather, don't do it,both lines separate to backin plate. and use thick wall hose that cant crush/suck in,kinda overkill but worth it....Looks nice with braid over it..

Too bad you’re having that challenge! I converted 2 S1s, 2 S2s, an X1, an S3, and a few buddies bikes and none leaked... I wonder if you possibly have a casting issue?

Each bike though also got rid of the stock pushrod tube assemblies, kept the stock rods, but switched to collapsible tubes with billet bases, never had another leak from the rocker boxes, breather assembly or the pushrod tubes.

Good luck!

Those bolts/fittings looks exactly like what I have. They work fine. I havent even noticed my breathers dripping any oil at all. I do have the XB rocker covers and PCV valves sitting in a cabinet to put on someday, but considering my current ones never leak, I'm a little hesitant to mess around with it. I know my XB would collect a little bit every ride that I always had to drain.

Not just any teflon will work. Use ptfe from an auto store that is compatible with oil or you will get it in your engine

I used Hylomar, found it at maybe Pep Boys? It's kind of goopy stuff, but it seems to work. I have the same headbolt breather banjo fittings like JohnOD mentioned. For what it's worth, they came with nylon washers for each side of the banjo, kind of hard to see in the picture.
