As Iíve mentioned before, I have one of the non-existent Ď99 S3T models.

I went looking for the service manual I was sure I have, but canít find it.

Can anyone tell me where the DDFI diagnostic port is located? Behind the fairing, under the seat, or somewhere else?

TIA,
John

Scratch that...I did what I should have done to begin with, and googled the S3T ECM location. Itís under the tail section, and presumably the socket Iím looking for will be there with it.

Itís up on the neck by the front engine mount. Thereís a hon of wires up there on top of the bolt, I think thereís a holder up there that keeps it to the right side of the neck. Itís a 4 pin deutsch connector IIRC

What William said. Its up in the right front fairing.... I have the same year.

and if you are looking for a 1999 S3T service manual, you won't ever find one, because there is no such thing.

Thanks guys. I greatly appreciate the info.

I bought a stack of old Buell manuals on EBay a while back, and was thinking there was an S3 service manual in the pile, but I canít find it..

Screamer, if you find that you have an extra one, I would be most happy to buy if you will sell.

Williamscott, thatís what Iím looking for.

I finally found it.

It was lying on top of the front rocker cover, near the right front corner. Not enough slack in the wires to go anywhere else other than backwards, if you know what I mean.
It was hidden by a frame gusset.

In the process of looking, I found a few more problems.

Does anyone have or know of a ďtrunkĒ bottom for the Ď99 S3? Iíd bet other years and models will fit, but no way I can be sure.

Item 22?

There are bound to be some cheaper options out there... Based on the part number suffix, any year S3 part will work.

Screamer, I responded to the PM. Iíll take them.

1313, thanks. Thatís what I need. For that price, I might patch it together with sheet metal and keep an eye out for a more affordable one... Weíll see.

1313, I just took another look at your profile, and got a good chuckle out of your occupation.

Maniacal engineer or not, Brankin is a fair and honest guy to deal with, if anyone doesnít know that by now. Iíve done at least one and maybe more deals with him over the years, and have always been happy with the transaction.

Really? Screamer had a service manual and a parts catalog. Good man to know, good man to do business with.

I wasnít crazy after all. I did have an S3 parts catalog that came with the EBay batch. It was just stuck in a drawer I wasnít expected it to be in.

No regrets Screamer. The one I got from you is more complete and a more suitable year.
The eBay version I found is a 2002.
Parts catalogs can be invaluable at times, and almost always helpful, but they donít replace a service manual if you are new to the bike.
