It appears this color was never issued a paint code. It must have been custom mixed at the factory.

I'm attempting to mix some with my local Sikkens dealer, here is the formula. It looks like it makes about a quart.

All of the old color codes are still available (for instance 00 = white) but 2: 333cc and 261.

Can anyone give me the modern equivilant of 333cc and 261?

Mike

I can't offer any help, but if you have figured out a paint code for the so called Charcoal frame color on the 96S2T, that would be awesome.

Ok, here's the scoop on Quicksilver Metallic. Likely the same for Parkway Blue. These colors were custom mixed at the factory and never assigned a paint code. This is why you often find the formula, but no code.

Several of the original base colors have been discontinued by Sikkens. In my case 333cc and 261. Hence the original formula cannot be duplicated by a paint store.

I write Sikkens Tech Support who were VERY helpful. http://www.sikkensnamobile.com/Services/ServiceMenu?id=151

They wrote me back:

"Our color lab was able to cross all the toners you listed to a current AutoBase Plus formula. If you provide this formula below to your dealer they should be able to mix and spray it out for you."

When I get the luggage lid painted I'll update.

Yes. Keep us posted. My bodywork (1996 ST2 Project) goes in for paint this fall. The quicksilver will work nicely for me.

Thanks for the footwork.

Good evening Milar,

Thanks for the update on the S2T "Quicksilver" paint codes. Any chance you or another BadWeBer has the same codes for "Parkway Blue" ?

I have some bag lids that need to be repainted too.

Thanks again,

Rick

Here are the formulas for both S2T colors.
According to my Sikkens toner chart some of those are no longer available. If so, use t Sikkens Tech Support and ask them to give you the formula using available toners.

Mike

Finally got around to posting a pic. The bag on the left has been repainted, the bag on the right is original. I'm not sure how much of the difference is fading. Side by side it is noticable. On a complete respray I'm not sure you'd notice the difference. Mike

Here is the color match on the fairing. Pretty close.
