Hi there, this bike popped up on craigslist 5 minutes from my house and I've always wanted a buell. I've owned a lot of old Japanese bikes and a few Italians. Did some research and when I found out how rare they are I thought why not go for it. The last 4 numbers of the VIN are 0080 so do I assume this is the 80th production S2T?

Looking forward to going through the bike, lots of good information on this site I'm finding

Very nice "Parkway Blue" Thunderbolt S2T. Man it looks great! Any signs of "S2 Pox" (paint blisters)

Dan,

I believe there were 429 built (398 49-State, 36 California, 26 Canada and 41 Japan) - but only the California bikes had different VIN number series, so yes, since its not one of the California bikes, it should be #80 built.

How many miles does it have? She looks like a very nice original - I'll add it to the registry.

No paint bubbling issues, currently has 57,000 kilometres on it. Needs a bit of bodywork (looks like it fell off the kickstand) and also the right side hard case has some rash from popping open while riding. Bike is all stock except V&H exhaust. Upon quick inspection I need to fix the kickstand and find a new ignition switch with a key, someone has swapped it for a toggle switch.

Dan, I can’t recommend Jolly’s kickstand piggyback plate enough. I’ve never seen a V&H that didn’t need repack. Nice bike!!

Beautiful bike, Mike. Do you have the fairing lowers for it too?

Mind telling us how many miles it has and what your VIN's last 4 digits are so I can add it to the S2/S2T registry?

Cheers,
~Andrew

Very nice “find”! Looks great! These really are my favorite tubers, they have an absolutely timeless design and style!!

Only a few things to update to solve some of the production issues, all easily found here.

Some a matter of fact, some a matter of opinion..

Mirrors for example... droop now or will.. a few ways to fix them but the sure fire way is to replace them with the Yamaha snow mobile mirrors, requires a slight mod to the mirror, about 5min work, and they are perfect mirrors for the bike!

Turn signals.... are fragile!!! If they are still stock...

Exhaust mount...

Rocker box covers and breather...

It fell off the kickstand??? WHAAAAT???

beautiful bike!! You will really enjoy it!!

>Beautiful bike, Mike.

Thanks. I've owned 5 or 6 Buells. The S2T is my favorite.

>Do you have the fairing lowers for it >too?

Yes. And all the signature stuff.

>Mind telling us how many miles it has and >what your VIN's last 4 digits are so I >can add it to the S2/S2T registry?

About 26K. The last 4 digits are 0006

FYI: Rex Chaney and I are doing an S2/Buell Rally here in Arizona in Sept. I'll post details as we work them out.

Nice looking bike! I have it’s twin and it has been a labor of love. Mine was in rough(ish) shape when I purchased it.
