Mine is a 97 S1. Love it. It required a bit of love, attention, and of course money. Unless you get it from an enthusiast who already fixed it up, expect to spend some time in the garage replacing the rubber engine mounts(isolators), primary chain tensioner,
oil pump drive gear, and any other number of parts. After I bought mine I spent about another 50% of the purchase price on brakes, tires, and engine parts that are known to cause problems if they're not upgraded. Great bike though.

Hows your mechanical skills? As Josh stated, these bikes are a riot but, will certainly test your patience from time to time.
That said, i love my s1w, and will never part with her.

More info on bike please....

Same here, probably spent closer to 75% if I'm being totally honest. But it's going to be a family heirloom, so yeah :P

And what Mike said, let's see some pictures!

Well I should specify that the 50% is where I'm at now, but I'm in no way done spending money on it haha.

I ride it daily as a commuter, and it's pretty reliable and runs pretty well, but it's over 20 years old and I have busy hands, so there's always something new the needs sorted or upgraded.

What everyone has said is true about the additional work and money you must put into them to make them safe and fully rideable. I have a beautiful snap red S1 for sale that has been gone through in this manner if you're interested (and I just dropped the price $500).

Most money spent on my s1w is undoing the previous owners "mods".
Worth every penny.
