So I want to get my X1 dyno tuned. They need a piggyback computer or something like that? Any suggestions??

The board opinion on 'add on' fi tuning devices is that they do not work well with Buell ECMs. The factory ECM tries to tune the system based on sensor inputs, and fights with the things the add ons try to do.

ECMSpy works well, and Buelltooth also, though users report Buelltooth is, at first, not as intuitive or user friendly as ECMSpy.

And look at the recent post of a user needing an X1 wiring diagram. One of the responses contains FI maps.

Before any of that, try contacting Firemanjim on this board. He has lots of experience with this.

Hope this helps, Dave

P.S. Found it - Buellmods.com

Oops! Big Oops! My bad - Meant to say TunerPro, not Buelltooth.

I used to be young and stupid . . . got over the young part. I really need to start writing these things down and proofreading them, then post.
Dave : )

ECM Spy( the older version) is your friend. What mods etc, probably have a good tune here.
I can talk anyone through tuning a Buell using Spy, but they need a dyno with a brake to tune the "learned fuel area".

I emailed someone from Spy and they replied wanting pictures of both sides of the bike so they could see what air intake and what pipe. So I did and haven't heard a word back. I honestly HATE chasing someone down to GIVE them my money! Annoys the shit out of me! Yes, I would like to talk more, yes I most likely will buy your product BUT of this is how your customer service is then pass! UGH! I'm curious what type of increase you can get too? I'm sure it's just a few horsepower 10% maybe but ride ability would be greatly improved?

IIRC there is a link to download ECM-Spy here
https://buellridersonline.com/forum/showthread.php ?t=7926, look at bottom of page. And not sure who you e-mailed , but doubt it was ECM-Spy.
Get that on your laptop. You can call me anytime and I will walk you through Spy. And probably have a good map here.

I don't know about the Harley motored tubers and XBs, as I just bought my first of each and haven't gotten far into them.

However, regardless of what EBR Tech told me about a Power Commander V w/Autotune fighting the ECM constantly, and causing problems, one of my three 1125s came to me with one on it. Once I got it working and activated the second O2 sensor it was equipped with, then set some parameters and put it in self learning mode, it became the best running of the three, and none are stock.

The tubers had a PC3 for them but tuners did not know about the "learned fuel area" and would tune the entire map to around 13.5. The owner would leave with a good running bike only to have the ecu pull fuel becuase it was seeing a rich condition(it wants to see 14.5-15.10 so it pulls fuel for__ the kicker--the ENTIRE map and now the bike ran like crap. So you can use a Power Commander ifd you tune around the "learned fuel area" but why when you can do so much more with Ecm-Spy.

Thanks Jim. Now I know why the S3 and the XB both came with PC 3's that were in their boxes...
