I’m working on installing a new front iso on my S2. The newer style is different from what I’m removing.

1. Do I have to drill I out the isolator or can I use the smaller bolt?

2. Do I have to remove the isolator mount that attaches to the jug? Cranking on a steel bolt in an aluminum head is giving me sweaty palms! 😬

Just use the smaller hardware in the front iso kit. Don’t worry about the loose fit. I removed my front mount from the head because it was being a pain in the arse because it goes in from the bottom on the s2 if I remember right. Be sure you have grade nine bolts in the mount to head (should have F911 stamped in the head). Torque to later spec (I think it’s 50ft/lb).

Some people drill out the isolator to use the bigger bolt, but it seems iffy to me. I went online and spent $1.05 on a steel 7/16-1/2" sleeve that perfectly fills the gap between the front engine mount and the new bolt. No drilling needed and now everything fits as it should. It was listed as "1/2 to 7/16 REDUCER / INSERT SPACER HEIMS HEIM JOINTS" when I bought it back in January. Don't see any listed now but I'm sure you can find something online.
