I removed my headers and installed a new oxygen sensor. It already had anti-seize coating on it so I did not apply anything additional. Installed the sensor, the headers, and started the bike. Lots of white smoke leaking around oxygen sensor threads. What gives?

Is it the excess anti-seize/thread lubricant burning off, it would seem weird to have white smoke even if it was an exhaust leak. Been so long since I have had an O2 sensor out does it also have a seal washer?

If it's simply "rising" smoke, it's the sealants.

If it's puffing or being pushed, it's a leak.

My guess is, chemical burnoff.

What you guys are saying makes total sense. I never thought about it but I think it probably is the burn off. I will drive the bike around to make sure it completely burns off and the smoking hopefully stops

It's pretty close to the head so if it were actually leaking it would make a fair amount of noise too.
