Hello everyone. I have a 2k Cyclone with a blown rear shock.Does anyone here know of a reasonably priced -that is code for cheap-replacement shock.I have the 15 inch (from center of one bolt hole to the other) unit, and was likely stock. Not concerned about appearance or having OEM. This bike is my daily ride, and I need to get back on the road. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks to all. | ||

That is one of the shocks from the first shock recall. If I recall, the shock used on the 97 S1 or S3 not have a separate reservoir. All of the factory shocks after the recall have the spring covered. Of course, the early recall shock with the narrow eyelet was also recalled for the later, shorter shock. That is if the recall that entailed wrapping the shock with hose clamps and a kludgy clamshell device wasn’t performed on the recall shock... Here is a latest post-recall shock. Being that you are closer to the later number, your bike may have been converted. If your regiulator is mounted witht he holes vertical, that is the later mount and your bike is converted. Lynrd is correct - the EBay shock shown is a recalled shock. Because it has no remote reservoir, it would be an early M2 shock (the only tube-frame shock with no reservoir). |
