I was on a ride last Friday night and when I got home my Air Cleaner was gone!

It fell off on my 15-mile ride home. I retraced my route 2 times and can't find it.

What are the chances that I will be able to find one? Or what have you guys seen people use in its place?

I have done a few quick searches and so far have not found anything OEM or aftermarket I like

oh man im sorry! bummer! i had a gs750 that i loved because it had both side covers and lost one my first big ride out :-(

i think a BWB might have a billet backing plate for that (ill have to remember who i asked)

as for the cover im sure someone might be hoarding one. i think the original backing plates had issues?

Thanks buddy.

I had an 82 Kaw KZ1000R Eddie Lawson Race Replica when I was in my 20's and they were still cheap. I lost a side cover on a ride. Thank goodness I was able to go back and pick it up out of the road before it got run over. I would have NEVER found one of those again. God I wish I still had that bike.

I used one of the billet back plates and a standard sportster chrome ham can that I had painted black.

Sad to say no one is making carbon fiber covers anymore. Especially in the normal Harley pattern.

Or prove me wrong. Lol I've already contacted several companies

I think NRHS still makes an air cleaner system very similiar to the factory S2 system.

Same here as Blks1I. I use a Hammer Performance back plate and the steel can outer with some extra holes drilled in the underside of it for a little extra air.

Great info guys. I checked out that link Ebutch. That could be an option. I have to do something asap.

4speeder That looks really good. I like that very much.

Bartimus I did a search for NRHS air cleaners. I have to go through the links. Thanks for the idea.

Does S2 stock air cleaner attach the same as a can ham air cleaner?

Thank you Two Seasons. That is the closest I have seen to the stock cleaner.

Thestig,
I have a couple of the Frontier Services back plate kits. They use a 3" K&N filter combined with the billet velocity stack - provide more flow than stock. The cover pattern is a traditional 4" two-hole hamcan pattern (same as H-D and S2). The breathers are routed into the carb throat - like the original S2. The angle of the top edge matches the angle of the frame tube.

I have an S2 angle billet air cleaner backing plate and filter. It's either American Sport Bike or NRHS branded, I forget which (I had one of each and sold one). Both were made by Aaron Wilson. $100 shipped. I will include a "greenie" carbon fiber cover but it has a couple burn spots on the bottom so it's not pretty by any means.

No sprk,
I haven't put many miles on (yet) since installing the
swingarm. Hope to have more "S2 Time", this fall - let you know how it works.
