Bought this bike sunday (7/30/17) on monday the check engine light popped on while riding. Check fluids nothings low, let the bike sit for a couple hours (thinking maybe temp issue) fired the bike up to ride home light kicked back on 5 min down the road.... it hasnt seemed to have lost any power BUT it idles higher after the light kicks on. Its a stock bike except for the exhaust which i was told is a full race exhaust from vance&hines dont knnow if antune was done or not to the ecm or anything like that. this is my first bike so i dont know what alot of phrases you guys use while i was reading through other threads hoping to stumble upon an answer so any and all knowledge will be great. Thanks in advance

That check engine light means that it has thrown a trouble code. You need to read the code to find out exactly what it is.
Do you have a friendly H-D/ex Buell dealer near you?

directions on how to check fault codes by using a jumper lead. This website works sometimes, and other times it doesn't. Hopefully it works for you.
If not, try this.

You can use a jumper, find the diagnostic port, it's either at the steering head or under the seat, 4pin male connector with a rubber plug in it, unless it fell out.
With the locking tab at the 12 o'clock position, short the right top and right bottom pins while ignition on and kill switch off. Turn kill switch on and count the CEL flashes. You will have x flashes, then pause, then another x flashes. That will be your trouble code.
Do this and post back. Easiest way to jumper is with spring loaded micro-clips on both end of light gauge wire.

I usually just use my jack knife to short those pins.
I have found that the self-diagnostics on mine have been pretty much spot-on.
Other than the engine light being lit, how it is running?
