Put the wrong (Dot 4) brake fluid in my 1996 S2T brake system and now need to rebuild the rear caliper and master cylinder, stock Brembo units. I'm sure there is a post somewhere on the site as I can't be the 1st one that's done this but I couldn't find one.

Any suggestions from the community on where I can get a rebuild kit for these parts. Or buy some New/NOS ones ?

I welcome any suggestions the community has.

Thanks,

Rick

I know you can't mix silicone DOT5 fluid with conventional brake fluids, but I didn't know that using one or the other could damage the rubber cups, quad rings and seals. I thought all rubber parts used in brake systems were compatible with all brake fluids. You can't just flush the system with DOT5 fluid and ride it? A lot of old classic car guys that only drive their cars occasionally flush their conventional fluid out and replace it with silicone DOT5 because it doesn't absorb moisture, and it lubricates better than the conventional fluids. I've never heard any of them say they had to replace all the rubber parts in the system when doing the fluid swap. Maybe someone here can learn me something on brake fluids!!!

Brembo P/N 98.5029.70
Does that look like what you need to rebuild the master cylinder?

Good morning Tripper,

Thanks for the detail on the Brembo p/n for the '95 S2 rear master cylinder rebuild. Are you interested in selling the kits pictured? I'll presume it's what I need since I can't see what's in it.

Thanks again for the info,

Rick

I have 3 rebuild kits and a new master Cylinder. I'll open one and layout the contents in a minute. I found out today that rear brake pads are no longer available but might have one coming from eBay. This might be tougher than I thought keeping this old bird on the road. I bought it to ride, my living room ain't that big..
