I,m putting on the buell race air cleaner and I see it just hangs off the carb. Has this caused any problems as most air cleaners I've seen hang onto the breather bolts

You are keeping the OE carb support bracket on the bike, aren't you?

If so, you'll be just fine.

If not, please do!

The carb support wraps from the head breathers, around the carb inlet, and has three screws that go into (and support) the carb.

The race intake (which weighs all of about 8 oz.) uses those same three bolts to attach to the motorcycle.

You'll be fine.

The bracket isn't for the air cleaner...it's for the carb. It's not part of the kit, it's part of the motorcycle. You should run that regardless of what aircleaner you have.

If you've been running the bike without the support bracket, the only thing holding your carb on has been the rubber boot, and the choke cable. Needless to say...you're not supposed to do that. Ever.
