Probably a lost cause I imagine.

Anyone got a set of bag backs they might sell?
I don't need lids.

This isn't looking promising.

Not a great option but probably your ONLY option...

Forgot about them, thanks.

Anyone know the quality?

If it's anything like more Airtech products, sketchy at best. I had a GP set-up on my S1 at one point. Nothing fit quite right. And they are not has sturdy as the OEM stuff. But if it's your only option.....

There's some parts on that page that say s2 but show s3 pictures. Idk kinda hokey, I'd call them and verify.

...because Buells (especially tubers) are SUCH a huge part of the motorcycle industry these days.

If they've dusted off the molds and are making the parts at all...that's impressive to me. My S2 is 22 years old - knowing I can buy parts for it (whether they need to be massaged to fit or not) is pretty spectacular.

Find a Norton owner. Ask them "do all the websites that make repro parts for your '60s bike, have correct photos for every model?". Betcha I know the answer...

I have deep lids from Airtech still in box. Yes those are for S2. Just have no time and desperate need to hook them up yet. Fit is not perfect but ok, and those are quite thick, thicker than OEM shallow lids. Beware hardware not included.

Factory lids don't fit terribly well either...remember to pack your gear in a Hefty bag! But done right, you can get decent fitment out of them. I've added a bottom mount point to the backs to help control wind-wag, and put a safety cable on the lids, and haven't lost any luggage yet.

Your best bet is to find a complete set that was matched together. The molds grew over time so the later in the year stuff doesn't fit the earlier stuff at all. I know it's not OEM, but I think a respectable, more pactical option would be to have some racks made to fit Hebco Becker bags like the Uly bags, since they latch much better, simpler, easier, more durable, and are moderately waterproof.

Factory bag kits were offered for a period that include a bracket that fit the improved late S3 bags to the S2. They functioned very well because they included revised S3 latching hardware - and sealed much better than S2 bags. Unfortunately not many were sold so they're hard to find. I've seen a set or two on S2s where the owner assumed they were original S2 bags - which could explain the posted comment on Air Tech showing an S3 bag as an S2 bag.

Funny you mention the molds Phelan.
Having that very discussion in another thread re my new bodywork, pieced together from various sources.

I have 3 sets of lids, and 1 set of backs, thought I'd try to find another.

While Hebco may make great bags, they are ugly as sin, ( sorry Uly owners) so that's out. : )

Would you happen to have parts numbers for them> specifically the locks? My bags have no locks and I am seeking a number to start with for cross reference!

Mark61,
I'll check when I'm back home in a few days. Do you currently have S2 or S3 bags?

Part number for the rack for S3T bags on an S2 is:
L1025.8
I put S3T bags on one of the S2’s that I built, great improvement!!!!

the S3 bags seal so well...they had to come up with a fix for when you could no longer get them open...
