What is a reasonable price for a set of S3 deep hard bags? These are on eBay for $600 with free shipping. I'll have to get them repainted, as my bike is black. The rear mounting stay is available for $175. Would I need anything else to mount them to an S3 other than misc hardware? Any specialty hardware? https://www.ebay.com/itm/272591857692 | ||

You need a rear mount in addition to the rack. The one that goes under the name plate mount. That prevents the inners from cracking and helps keep the bags from bouncing around. And you need keys, no longer available from dealers. A locksmith might be able to cut a new key for the bags and re-key the ignition to match. My locksmith wouldn't touch the bag locks though. I just sold a narrow set that are little rough for $400. They didn't need paint, but would be better for it. I have the mounting bracket and rear support if you need them. | ||

I paid $500 for deep S3 bags, bracket and shipping from ebay back in 2015. And then I fiberglass-reinforced their insides per instructions on BWB. While I like to make things for cheap, and the stock bags have known issues, I like the look of the covers over anything I can build myself. (Message edited by h0gwash on March 17, 2017) | ||
