I finally got the repack kit, getting my header crack welded tomorrow.

I'm going to do the repacking myself and reinstall the muffler.

What are the tools you guys use that you have found the easiest to remove the two bolts for the muffler. I bought some ratchets but could not get to them last time.

It's a pretty tough spot! It was like a year ago.
What are the sizes that I need? thanks.

2 x 1/2af spanners although I have socket head bolts in mine, I find laying flat on the floor helps, unless your better equipped and have a lift of some description

Thanks. Yeah I'm gonna have to do it laying on my side.
I had a ratchet set that angled. I think it lost strength from the bend. All I remember is it did not work out. lol

Had it in a shop getting the muffler repaired that lifted it with a strap and used a flat wrench and one socket.

I've always used a long 1/4" extension on my 1/4" rachet and a 1/2" socket on one side and a 1/2" rachet wrench on the other side. I do have a lift, but I've done it laying on the ground too.
Good luck, hopefully the rubber grommets are good and the bolt hasn't rusted solid in the spacer tube.

Similar approach to kmbuell: I use a rachet with a long extension, facing in from the primary side, with a simple 1/2" box wrench holding the nut on the backside. No lift here, but a rear stand does provide a bit more clearance.

Thanks I'll go with the ratchet and 1/2af backing wrench. I think that's how we did it last time at the welders shop (not my tools).

Got the header tigged. Home depot was out of rivit guns. Gonna start taking it apart soon.
