For the cast aluminum swingarms
I have the OEM part number 3857Y

They appear to be stupid expensive and don't include the required nuts. Can anyone give me the bolt size and thread pitch so I can source them myself?

Just check what grade bolt they are too.

So, it sounds like you don't have the original hardware.

Go to your local hardware store and source what size you think they are, then...

Go to your local Fastenal dealer and get the correct grade, length, pitch.

Carry on

Don't know about the bolt length, but both the adjustment nut and the jam nut are 5/16-24. No mention of grade for the nuts.

Hope this helps, Dave

Thank you Dave. I can figure the rest out pretty easily, but that thread pitch was the most important detail.

Hardness shouldn't really matter as there is very little stress on them once the axle nut is tightened down.

Pretty sure they don't actually screw into the swing arm so tread pitch won't be relevant.
They are a special head though.

Yeah, swingarm isn't tapped.

Yeah, swingarm isn't tapped.

Most weren't, but very early ones were.

No shit? I never thought to check. I had just assumed the swing arms were threaded with the same pitch as the bolt/jam nuts. Well, that makes things dramatically easier. Thanks for the input

Special bolt head = 30 sec on a grinding wheel ; )
