Hope you took pictures and kept notes! I assume the motor and all of the electronics are still in the frame?

Interesting build so far!
What are the plans for paint and powder coat?

If you have plans to sell the complete stock headlight ,I'm very interested in it.

Highway dirt bikes .com has some pretty trick top clamps and mounts for the vapor you can get many configurations and they do carry one that fits an xb set up.

That's a crazy looking headlight, what's it from?

I had one of their speedometers on a yz426 supermoto I used to have. It wasn't that same exact model though. It worked well. Only thing I didn't like about mine was that it didn't have a backlight so when it got dark it was useless. It's very possible there might've been a way to turn one on had I read through the manual. I'm sure some newer ones have them. I'd really like to replace my stock gauges with one since I plan on removing my flyscreen once the weather warms up a little in spring, and the front end would look much nicer with that one on there, but for some reason I'm weird about switching from the stock odometer. I'm sure if I ever wanted to switch back and wanted the mileage to be correct I could just add the two odometer numbers together, then put the speedometer cable in a drill and put a rubber band around the handle so it spins for a few hours till I get it to the right number.

You will need to watch if the vapor has a constant power draw which it might to retain memory not sure but dont want ti get stranded either. Gps speedo is the easy way to put the xb front wherl on the older tuber.

The one I had just ran off of a small watch battery. Obviously if yours has a backlight you'd want it hooked to the motorcycle battery or it would drain pretty quick. They might come with a battery in them even if they're meant to be hardwired, just to retain the memory. Mine would just go to a blank screen after the bike sat for a while, and would pop back on after the front wheel moved so the battery that came in it lasted for as long as I owned the bike. It just ran off of a magnet on the front wheel.

So..... It's been a week or two since I have posted anything new and I have some news! I'm thinking about changing my WHOLE build idea and going in a totally unique direction. I can't tell anyone exactly what it's gonna be but I can say that I've only seen 2 bikes on the whole interweb like it. Kinda sucks I didn't have this idea before I bought everything to do the xB swap and the x1 swing arm. Needless to say all of the parts will be going for sale I may even do a package deal. I know some people will hate me for this idea I have but I will love it if it works. So yeah that's the latest.

Those two basiccly just use the motor everything else is custom or modified from another bike.

Buellfighter just got his back after being stolen and gone for a long time

This one was Foximus but alas it is gone but probably still my favorite of all tiime, look closely he has an xb belt tensioner magnesium front wheel, ztl 2 front setup, custom made hid projector lights and a custom aircleaner from a water bike. Its just mean and raw

I love them all!!
I would love a set of very light wheels!!
i'm no fan of the 90 degree bend force winder style air cleaner, that are so popular now, only plus is it has some air space between carb & air cleaner - is it makes air do a 90 degree turn on the way in.

Well I wanted a supermoto I was going to modify the frame a little and use dirt bike forks and swing arm to make it to where it could take a jump and stairs ect. Basically make a buell dirt bike with street tires. But I think I'm just gonna stick with my original plan and then later on buy a supermoto. Also buellfighters is just a street fighter ... A beautiful one! I just wanted the capability of a dirt bike. Here is a link for a video of that one.https://youtu.be/a9vYniyLp5k

I used to have a supermoto, a Yamaha yz426 with the 450 tank and bodywork. If you want a supermoto, you've definitely gotta go all the way. All of these 1000cc motards you see now from Ducati and whoever else... Are just streetbikes with long suspension. Nothing like a 250lb bike you can just throw around. I couldn't keep either wheel on that bike on the ground, whether I was on the gas or on the brakes. I vote for sticking with your regular plan, and buying a dirtbike for a supermoto... By the time you spend all the time and money modifying your frame, swingarm, suspension, oil tank.... You could've just bought a dual sport for a supermoto project.

Yeah I agree I just thought a vtwin supermoto would be cool and I want to say that that TPJ cycles one was like 346lbs but yeah I'm going with my original plan. I had my new stem from engineered velocity pressed in by the local high school auto tech and it looks to me like they dropped it or somehow messed up the threads to where the bearings wouldn't pass and the nut wouldn't thread so I'm sending it to Engineered Velocity and they said they will see if they can fix it, and yes I tried a thread chaser and no luck. Worst case is I have to buy a new stem. Does anyone have a link to the repair manual on swing arm removal and installation? I've got the old one off but idk if there is any tricks to getting the new one on. I've read about the special home made tool but do I need to install the block and swingarm separately or just leave them together. I have 4 days off work for Thanksgiving so I'm going to try and get the rear finished up while I wait on the stem.

You should be able to download the full service manual at either of these places:

http://www.steveturnbull.co.uk/buell/buellmenu.htm

http://buellmods.com/manuals.html

I have it too, I can try to email it to you if for some reason those don't work. Some people use/make the special tool, I feel like most people with access to some kind of lift say it's easiest to unbolt the back of the motor, lift the frame straight up, attach the swing arm and new isolators, and then just lower the frame back down over it. I haven't gotten to do mine yet though so I'm just going off what I've heard around here.

If you really like the idea of a vtwin, you could look at an Aprilia sxv. Those bikes already have a vtwin and sound pretty crazy. Don't think they're cheap though.

Ok got some progress!!!!! The x1 swingarm is on as well as the back wheel! I remember someone saying that the stock s1 axle would be a little long... It seems that it's the other way around. I can't quite get a full nut with the axle nut, but dang it looks good!!!! Also my kickstand hits the swing arm so I'm thinking I need to get the x1 kickstand?

Yup, you need the axle from the aluminum swingarm.

There should be a rubber bumper that controls how high up the kickstand goes. It's not unusual for them break off of the old bikes or simply be to short for the aluminum swingarms.

Ok so the aluminum swingarm axle is longer? And I will take a look at the kickstand again. It's coming along though!!!
