So I was getting my bike out for a ride yesterday and as it was warming up I heard a rattle which I thought to be my clutch linkage which is still the stock set-up so it rattles a little but after investigating further I found that my front brake rotor was rattling and loose. I realized I had heard it the other day when I was riding but didn't
Think too much about it. Still stops fine but just annoys me. Is this a common problem? Do I replace the whole rotor or do I put new bolts and nuts and try to shim the bolts to make them tighten up because I tried to tighten them when I realized that's what it was and they will not tighten any further. ? I apologize early for all the questions.

When the rotor is hot, Don't hold front brake on at traffic lights and it won't buckle.

These are floating rotors the do rattle and make noise. Bedt upgrade is a 9 pin instead of a 6 pin.

Yes, it is a common problem with the old six pin brake rotors. There is no reasonable fix. Either get a later style nine pin or an EBC.

So this isn't necessarily a problem? Mine does the same thing, but I've had it looked at by the "experts" that say it's fine. Guess I'll upgrade to 9.

If it has bolts holding it to the carrier and not rivets, you can get new wave washers to silence the rattle.
