You should find a couple of local bike gang members to help you trailer that beauty around to shows! How old is the purple hair girl, I'm calling in an Amber Alert.

Is the RR1000 a twin carb set-up? I don't think I've ever seen pictures of the bike w/o bodywork

I'm trying to remember from mine . . but I think they were 36mm.

Like the 389ci GOT with 3 - 2 barrel carbs. . . the XR-1000 motor was . . in my opinion . . one of the best sounding ever made.

I used to love to get along side a concrete barrier wall and crack the throttle open . . . .

So this for riding, or just for looking at?

I'd leave this one in the "to look at" category. While they were a barrel of fun to ride they were finicky as hell and you would never get any body parts (although someone picked up a complete brand new factory boxed set of bodywork a couple years ago on eBay) if you needed them.

In addition, the bikes make excellent home art. I used to take the bodywork off my old Buell, sometimes, just to stare it it. It's incredibly well designed and engineered The more you you the more you love and appreciate it.

#6 has been sitting in Dan''s office since the day it was purchased new and is still amazing. #50 made it's historical contribution to proving what these bikes are capable of doing.

IT truly is an amazing piece of machinery and a significant part of Buell history.

Just my opinion . . .

"IT truly is an amazing piece of machinery and a significant part of Buell history."

I'd go beyond that and say it is a significant part of motorcycle history

Lake, you are definitely correct with that statement! Eric Buell , and the RR1000, has not received the credit that it deserves. The RR1000 , and Eric, should be an American Icon considering the fact that they were one mans dream of building the first American race bike to compete with the foreign bikes of the time. He also built them in a small garage in America.

I have some of the original . . . drawn on paper . . .blueprints and drawings from the original bike. The bike was amazing . . the fact that so many of the individual components were meticulously designed and fabricated, either in the barn or in places (in the case of the front calipers) by outside fabricators. . . .is even more amazing.

I love the juxtaposition for the old ironhead motor with the sportbike running gear.

Was the rear engine isolator an adaption of a standard H-D part?

I'm amazed at how much of the "soul" of Buell tube frame bikes I see in those pictures.

Features: Sport Bike

Well, I guess they got that covered.

It would be cool to have a head to head comparison between that and an 1190RX. How far we have come.

That is a pretty big tank but it's an iron motor underneath afterall. It probably has a tendency to sling oil about a bit when ridden in anger.
