I have adjusted it to track straight then when tighten axle nut seems throw off tracking by 3/8 of a inch. Before tightening nut wheel has play between swingarm

Find the tight spot in belt then adjust to to sloppy lose.

it is adjusted correctly but when tighten axle it throws it out of adjustment

Then the axle is moving when you tighten it. It will move the direction if the nut spinning

Tighten it just enough to hold it in place, then set bike down on rear wheel and torque to proper value. This "trick" will keep it from moving while tightening.

I will try that but swing arm is least quarter inch wider then wheel with spacer and that is what i think is making go out of track

Make sure that your rear caliper mount doesn't look like this:

The allen bolt at the front should be located in the slot on the inside of the swingarm.

If your swingarm is wider / has play with the spacer I beliieve you have an issue. Both swingarms I used had a snug fit before tightening anything

I was the one that posted that picture of the caliper mounted wrong, and despite that stupid issue, the swingarm/wheel spacing was still perfect. All that did was rotate the spacer. It sounds like something either happened to your spacer and it's thinner than it should be, or more than likely your swingarm is bent. You could try to bend it back(against the advice of I assume everyone on this forum.... but if you can tell which side it is that's out of adjustment, I'd probably spend an hour or two in my garage whacking it with a big hammer before I gave in and headed to ebay for a replacement), but you're probably best off to just replace it.

It should be a fairly tight fit with swingarm to spacer as stated above... how much of a gap do you have?

Um...use the adjusters (on the ends of the swingarm) to keep the axle from moving?

A random trick to keep your front wheel firmly pressed up against the adjusters is to put something like a screwdriver between the belt and the top of the pulley and rotate your wheel backwards by hand. It'll take any slack out of the belt temporarily and will hold the wheel as far forward as it'll go. Then with that tension you can tighten the axle nut without worrying about the axle walking backwards on either side.

That is to much space. Are you missing anything in the assembly if not either you have the wrong spacer ir your swingarm is tweaked!

there is one washer on non threaded side of axle on outsde of swingarm and one washer between spacer and wheel then just lock washer and nut. Swingarm is chromed and see no damage to it that cause it to be bent.
When adjust tracking it fine till I tighten axle nut so could I add a shim to spacer and tighten ? And about it being the right spacer it is same as spacer on my S1

So is the wheel slipping forwards or back when tightening the axle?
If it's to the back then probably there is to much space that you trying to tighten.

Brother in buells it is slipping off the trans pulley toward the trans when nut is tighten

Ok I tried what others suggested about adjusting belt then lower tire onto ground before tighten axle nut and it worked it tracks right in forward motion but if u roll tire in reverse it goes out of alignment 1/4 inch but then if you roll forward one turn it goes back to tracking straight. Anybody go anything on that? besides dont roll bike in reverse lol

There is something bent or bowed. I would make a template of the top of the s1 swingarm and set it in this one to see if it is bent. Only other thing is did the bearings somehow get pushed inward? They should not be able to push them inward but there is definitely something wrong

S1owner when i got bike they trans pulley cover was dragging on pulley like it was missing some kind of spacers and measuring cover and where it mounts it was 3/8 shy of clearing pulley and made bike hard to even roll so took it off. But previous owner might have tightened it so much could have warped trans pulley while they rode it. I have yet to ride bike still fixing it up.

And when roll tire backwards goes out of track about 3/8 inch but forward it returns to tracking staight in one revolution of trans pulley

Btw the trans pulley cover isnt like one on S1 think it off a sportster 1200

Try pulling the belt off the rear rotor and just pushing it to the side, then loosen up the axle adjusters to let the wheel slide as far forward in the holes as they can go, try to get the wheel tightened in that position without it moving. Once you get it there, find something straight and rigid and line it up against the edge of the front and rear rotors and see where it points. That'll give you an idea of which rotor isn't lining up straight, and a better idea of what your problem is, as far as if both are still straight and just not lining up, or if one is straight and the other is sitting at an angle.

used a dial indicator to check both pulleys for warp or out of true and thats good and with a straight edge from pulley to pulley shows they straight to each other but front pulley sets back 3/16 to 1/4 back towards engine cases

So it sounds like the right side of the swingarm is bent outward, and when you tighten it, it's pulling the brake side inward so the back wheel is setting too far towards the belt side. Try finding some large washers and see if you can fit a quarter inch of them next to the normal belt side axle spacer. If you tighten it that way and the pulleys seem to line up fine, it's the right side that's bent out, and you'll either need to try to bend that side back in, or just get a new swingarm

Upthemaiden got bars off and have a spare and got shifter lever off so can heat it and straighten but hurts turn wrenches or move least that only damage to bike just hit on bars and lever but dont think broke any ribs just bruised them hurts to move
