So far I've provided two shocks to Race Tech, who noted that one of my shock bumpers was completely missing. I have to say they have been very patient providing the remaining part to me to assist in my search for a new one. From advice received on a thread in Old School, I contacted GPSuspension. Also very helpful, but referred me to Factory Connection. They've requested a part number. Surprisingly (to me, anyway) the part number for the bumper is in the parts manual as 50114-94Y. Twin Motorcycles appear to have the part, but I'd like to look on this side of the pond first. Can anyone tell me what the new number is? Option 2 - who is the company that used to buy a lot of the old parts from HD? I thought it was at vintageparts.com, but that search came up empty. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link! Nothing in stock under the old part number. Not surprising, but feel better having at least looked. For a little rubber buggy bumper they're a bit pricey! Looks like it's always been that way, though, for this particular part.

I ran the number trough the dealer parts lo and no dealer popped up having the bumper. My guess when the shock went to recall status most or all the replacement WP shock part where scraped.

Thanks, Lance. Just to make sure I look under all of the rocks, can you tell me if there's a new & improved number? Along the lines of the obsolescence you mentioned, they may not have created one for a part they didn't need. Just making sure.

I looked for order numbers and updated numbers. Once a part gets hit with a recall most of the time all the replacement parts for that item gets scraped.

It is. And shipping isn't cheap, either! Questioning my sanity, but want to see this through.
I did see a catalog price of about $33 around 2003 or 2004, so I don't feel like I'm getting gouged. I am wondering if they'll really have the part, though.

Your not the only one having difficulty with seeing if they have things in stock or not ,i had already mentioned that awhile ago to them.
They said it's best to call or e-mail and ask.
(don't know how fast the respond to a email because they are always that busy)

But why not giving it a try with a regular piece of a shock bump stop?
I guess because it's not replaceable after assembly?

The parts came in from Twin Motorcycles. Definitely not the correct part. I'll have to send them a pic but I have a feeling I just wasted $150. Oddly enough, it looks like something out of the fatcatmotorsports line. Probably deemed "close enough" of a substitute by someone in the past. Not for me.

Minor stocking mix-up. Parts are on their way. Excellent customer service from Twin Motorcycles. Unfortunately it may be the last that they have.
