I'm thinking about getting a set thats clicks and is easier to pull than the stock one.

What do you guys recommend? I want a black set to match my paint.

Levers that bolt on to the existing housing would be easiest for me.

Well there are the chinese going for under 50$ the pair, if you want some thing better with micrometric adjustment (not 6 positions like chinese) ASV are the way to go, i have them and i wouldent hesitate to buy them again

I've always bought the $25 levers off of eBay and they've always worked perfectly. I'm actually about to buy a set for the S1. People who buy the expensive ones swear they're worth it, and other people have posted pictures of their expensive ones right next to the cheap ones and said they could barely tell a difference. If you want something flashy, get the expensive ones, if you just want shorter adjustable levers, get the cheap ones off of eBay(select US only so you're not waiting 3 weeks to get them). Once you get them adjusted to the right spot you're never gonna move them again, so I haven't really been able to convince myself to spend 10 times as much on levers that are only a little nicer.

ASV and the cheap ones are totally different, the cheap ones are like CRG or PAZZO, on the Uly i had i bought CRG ( in those days there seré no cheap ones available) some years latir the cheap ones appeared, and a couple of friend bought them and couldent tell the differece from the CRG except for the name stamped.

I think I tried a crg set on a 796 hypermotard for sale and it had the click sound I like. Though may have been asv. It had the adjustment lever on the top in red on a black lever. Anyhow it felt way better than the stock one on my bike now. My hand gets cramps from the clutch lever its like one of those handgrip work out squeezers.

Not sure what to go with. I want the clutch lever more in, not shorter. The reach is long.
I like full length clutch and brake levers.
Good to know the cheaper ones work good. I might pick something mid priced.

Thing to be careful of with the cheap ones is the area that pushes the plunger on the master cylinder. Quality control is not a good Chinese practice. Mine ever so slightly pushed on the plunger causing the brakes to slightly rub nothing you would notice till the heat up and expand and lock your front end up going 30 mph!

I ran both the Chinese ones and CRG. Both functioned and looked the same... however, the Chinese ones turned purple in a year and the CRG ones stayed black even after 2 years. I have heard about issues with the Chinese ones causing the front end to lock up but i never experience that problem. These have the 6 position lever, the ASV's have a dial. I believe these have more adjustment but im not 100% sure as ive never owned a set.

ASV. Have 4 inches of range and 100 positions to adjust, so they give you the chance to adjust to the exact position you want.

Do a clutch adjustment. That will tell you IF you can shorten your throw and still get a proper engagement.

I like my Muller clutch ramp. Also if you buy a new clutch cable, the cable is covered with plastic so there is no metal to metal contact ever. It has helped.

I do remember hearing that about there being pressure on the plunger and causing problems. If you go that route, just check when you're installing them to make sure they're not pressing, and file them down a little bit if needed.
