Well since an M2 is carbureted...I think you have the wrong name for the part you're working with. At the very least.

A word of warning. One detail that most people overlook is that starting in 2001 (and carrying over through 2002), the M2 Cyclone had a new *unique* Ignition Module. Previous years had the typical one plug carbureted ignition module. While starting in 2001, it looked like this:

M2 ignition module 2001-up

There have been a few somewhat recent threads about replacement ignition modules for these. I don't recall the details of resolution, unfortunately.

Hopefully someone who does will post the findings,

There is a "Race" version of this module too. I don't have the pn. But that ought to help broaden up the search a bit. I believe all it did was raise the rev limit up a bit, or delete the soft redline peak.

Rat or Brankin, can you clarify?

Raised the limit, changed the advance curve.

Interesting dyno charts in the Knowledge Vault, shows that any difference may not be perceptible to the rider. To me this implies any curve change would be very small.

Contrast this with the charts for the 4 different curves on the Dyna2000 Ignition module, a slight difference (not much) shows.
