WD40 is not bad for fuseboxes.
I would use that instead of the wire drying stuff.
The advantage of WD40 is that it leaves a light oil film.

I would not use WD-40 on anything electrical.

CRC makes a product called Electrical Cleaner QD (for Quick Dry). No residue. Good stuff. Red and White can at any auto store.

I've always used the "exercise" method for cleaning corroded electrical contacts. Pull connector/relays/fuses off then back on several times to peel some of the corrosion off, then the electrical contact cleaner, then a small amount of dielectric grease to finish.

WD-40 is cheap. I would worry that the residue might collect dust over time, but it is pretty light. I would (and have) used it in a pinch to clean contacts.

But like Two Seasons says, if you are buying something anyway, get some non residual electrical contact cleaner. Any of it would be fine. Heck, isopropyl alcohol from wal-mart (the 75%+ stuff) is probably good, except that it might mar some surfaces, and it doesn't come in a nice spray can.

Update, put in new diodes and relays I got from HD. Sprayed the fuse slots with crc.
Same thing buzz from the fuse box.
Gave up. Sent to the shop.

They said it was the starter. So I'm getting a new starter and battery put in.
